This team is pure shit. Just get a new coach and let him start this thing again.

Batch and his partner on the post-game finally conceding that someting is wrong with the team but cant fgure out what it is? lol

Here's a hint: Same problem year after year, different players, but there has been one consistent figure.

Everyone, look at Steichen and say coaching isn't a factor in the situation that the Steelers are in. Guys are mailing it in. Game plans and play calling stink. The Colts are riddled with injuries and they score tons of points.

Wow, the Steelers have sunk low. No QB on this roster will help. I'd be fine with Fields or Murray as a bridge until they can pick a real QB(I think Fields is better than anyone on this roster, by far).

This team is making me sick of football. I have never seen this team this bad when it doesn’t have to be. Trubisky is the worst quarterback I’ve seen wear a Steelers uniform but Tomlin can’t figure it out. Fire him and his whole coaching staff. Hire Brian Flores as HC and let him straighten this darn team out.

I said it before when they were 7-4, they are by far the worst 7-4 team ever and now that they’re 7-7, they’re still the worst 7-7 team and actually worse than a lot of the teams with by far worse records. But hey, some how the great one will get this turned around enough to get them to 9-8 and his glorious streak will continue until he decides he’s had enough and retires…. Unfortunately, the Steelers will not fire him, they are too loyal to a fault. The fact they managed to win 7 is mind blowing to say the least, they are the luckiest 7 win team, and unfortunately, we’re far away from a half way decent draft pick as well….. only team I think we have a realistic chance at beating is Carolina, and even then, I’m not sure. grrrrr

This is it. As much as I like to dunk on Beachbum for his Trubisky nonsense, the QB isn't the problem. Anyone objectively watching this offense (so, not Beachbum's film review thread) from the start of the season has seen a disjointed, direction-less mess from every player, not just the QB. The fact that it took most of the season to do anything about it, and now the team isn't even showing up down the stretch despite a shot at a playoff berth... coaching needs a serious look.

That nonsense with Diontae Johnson just completely quitting on the field - there's no place for that. That was a defining moment. When it was clear that there was no accountability for that (to my knowledge), you lose your team as a coach. Players gotta give a shit - that's a minimum requirement.

Tomlin has been the problem for years as the team started sliding but still kept at or above .500 at the end of the season. His non loosing seasons has been celebrated instead of people looking closer and going wow they mostly just beat other average or bad teams to stay afloat. Sure they have an occasional ambush game life Buffalo a few years ago but it was a fluke win. Players have changed, cordinators have changed Tomlin is the constant. Maybe he goes elsewhere and looks good again maybe he goes elsewhere and continues to slide backwards but it should be clear what he is doing here now is no longer working. Is it him alone? Probably not they have made the mistake of promkting from within for far to long. Sure on one side it mean stability and familiarity but it also means you become stagnate as nothing new is introduced.

Maybe its the Mandella effect but toward the end of Haley as the OC i seem to remember some cries of the offense is predictible (yes it was Ben not wanting him that ended his time there) but i seem to recall a few cries of it being predictble. Then came Fitchner and the same cry, then Canada and cries of predictibility got louder and came from more than just fans it came from opposing players. Now part of that comes from always bringing in the guy below the guy you just parted ways with, but could it also be the HC. He doesnt change and despite being known for be8ng on the defensive side of the ball he was originally on the offensive side. He didnt move to the defensive side because he was better on that side he moved there because he felt like it was the quicker way to become a HC (didnt star wars warn us going the quick way isnt way to go). None of us knows how much Tomlins hands are in the offense but if its been predictible for 3 straight cordinators im guessing his hands are in there.

Recently it was pointed out players in a poll want to play for tomlin. Those pointing it out are using it as why he should remain head coach. The poll was anymous and consisted of 72 players. Now there are seceral problems with the poll one being its a very small sample size of the NFL. Its around 4% (4.24) and thats if you only consider the roster of 53 players. If you add in practice squads youre looking at 3%. A second problem the poll doesnt say why they want to play for him. Do they want to play for him because they will get a chance at a ring (not very likely), do they want to play for him because you get to play on a fun innovated offense (definitly not) because you get to play for a fun get after the QB defense (quite possibly) or is it because at least on the surface to the outside eye does he let his players get away with a lot of well anything. Ive had bosses that people wanted to work for. Some were because they jumped in the trenches and worked right beside you when they had to. More often than not though the ones people wanted to work for (especially in the last 10 years or so) are the bosses who let you get away with a lot. Bosses who dont have consequences if you miss a lot of work, or if you are always late, or if you half ass your job ect ect. I get it int todays NFl you cant Tom Ciughlin them (even he changed) butmthere has to be some discipline. When Blount and Brown walked off on the team they were sent packing. Perhapse their only mistake was leaving the field. If they had just quit on the field maybe they would have stayed. Pickens and Johnson have both quit plays on the field as have others some multiple plays and times.

The broncos got embarressed by the Dolphins looked like they had a defense that didnt belong on an nfl field. What happened? Changes were made to the defense morphed into a better looking defense and team.

What did the Steelers do after theirmembarrasing loss to the Cardinals? Oh yeah they followed it up with a loss to the Patriots. A game where afterwards Tomlin said

With back-to-back losses to these teams, where do you go from here?

We get ready for our next opportunity next week. It's what we always do. Obviously, this stings but we'll be back.

What gives you the confidence that you guys can be back after two losses?

Because this is what we do. This is who we are.

Anyone else get unleash hell vibes from these answers? So follow up an embarrasing loss to the Pats with oh yeah another steaming pile of shit. His defenders are already lining up saying if we had had pickett we would have won those games and when he comes back pickett will get us the wins we need. Two things for those people pickett sucks not as bad as trubs maybe but he still sucks. Secondly look at the Bengals they lost one of the elite QBs in the game how are they responding? See coaching can make a difference.

BTW unlike when they played the Pats they had extra days to be ready for the colts.

The other thing is that we are in last place in the ➗ . Tomlin is on the cusp of doing something that we haven’t done in 40 years. Last place. This season didn’t have to be this bad but his hard headedness has made us sit through some of the worst quarterback performances in team history for two and a half weeks.

With the loss to the Colts this week Tomlin may have put himself.and the team into the record books. It's not one you want to be in and I'll be honest I don't know that it's a record but here you go
Colts led by first time head coach Shane Steichen
Cardinals led by first time head coach Jonathan Gannon
Houston Texans led by first time head coach Demarco Ryan

3 teams with first time head coaches best a coach who some list as top 5 all time who some.wanted to make coach of the year this season if they got to the playoffs. Yes first time coach's win games but how often had a coach/team lost to three different 1st timers in the same year

Steelers plan to start Mason Rudolph in Week 16, but Kenny Pickett may return

Santa Claus isn’t the only one looking to Rudolph to provide a spark on Christmas weekend.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said the team is preparing to start quarterback Mason Rudolph against the Bengals on Saturday afternoon. But there’s a possibility Kenny Pickett will be available to play after missing the last two games with an ankle injury.

“It’s our intention, as we sit here today, to give Mason Rudolph an opportunity to start,” Tomlin said at his Monday press conference. “He’s a veteran guy. he’s a backup, but he’s also a veteran guy. He’s been in our program a long time. he’s here for those reasons. We’ve got a great deal of comfort with him.”

Mitch Trubisky has started at QB for the last two games but he was replaced by Rudolph late in Saturday’s loss to the Colts.

“Man, we don’t like what we’re looking at and the consistency of it,” Tomlin said of the reason for the change. “What I mean is, we’re not scoring enough points. Particularly as you move into December football, man, you’ve got to score more than 12, 14, 16 points in games this time of year. You better assume that others are doing the same. The engineering of victory is not going to be fluid if you’re not doing those things. And obviously, by nature of the position, the guy that has the ball at the quarterback position, that’s a catalyst for change and opportunity. So, we want to give him some snaps from a preparation standpoint, some in-helmet perspective.

“Not dumping the outcome of the game at Mitch’s feet — I’m not saying that. But I am saying the guy at that position is at the controls and does have a big say in how some things unfold. And it’s more about, really, Mason Rudolph being deserving of an opportunity and us trying to change the trajectory of what’s been transpiring.”

Trubisky was 16-of-23 for 169 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions against the Colts. He also scored a rushing touchdown.

Saturday was Rudolph’s first game action since 2021. He threw three passes, completing two of them for 3 yards.

Rudolph has started 10 games in his career, compiling a 5-4-1 record. He’s completed 61.5 percent of his throws for 2,369 yards with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

As for Pickett, Tomlin said the 2022 first-round pick had a good rehab workout on Monday. Pickett underwent surgery to repair his high ankle sprain the day after suffering the injury in Pittsburgh’s Week 13 loss to Arizona.

“His availability is not out of question this week,” Tomlin said. “But at the front part of the week, our intention and emphasis will be on Mason Rudolph and we’ll leave the door ajar and see how Kenny responds to the work that he did today, the limited work that we’re probably going to give him tomorrow, and, again, establishing a position in terms of a pecking order the closer that we get [to the game].

“But, again, as I stand here today, Mason Rudolph is the guy with the ball. We’re going to support him and ready him.”

So Mason's reps will be less this week so, if he does play, he won't be effective because he didn't practice enough(not that he's good anyway). If Pickett starts, it'll be the same.

Would make sense to give mason all the reps and not play Pickett but coaching f the year there is now going to play cat and mouse so the Bengals D doesn't know what's coming. If Pickett is even remotely healthy they will run him out there. Personally I don't think he is the guy.have mad no secret about that so it doesn't matter if you run him out in a dead season or not. If he is the guy though why risk him in games that mean nothing. Oh wait there is still a chance to save his non losing season streak.

Not according to TikTok where KP is being hailed as the savior and is indeed the guy. He only has 6 TD passes because he gets them down there and they rush it for the score. They have rushed for a grand total of 7 tds with KP as the QB but they don't want to talk about that. Just when I thought they had reached the pinical.of craziness they want to compare Bradshaw's first two years to KPs first two. Now they aren't comparing numbers because TB had 20 TD passes in his first 23 games but they are comparing he started out bad and ended up winning 4 SBs. I'm guessing they are young and looking at numbers because had they watched they would know 70s passing is different than 2020s passing.
