I will never forget when Ivan Pace Jr wasn't drafted and the Vikings picked him after the draft was over he said you done fu*ked up now wow that's looks to be true just stay healthy
Despite scoring only three points, Vikings had a great Week 14 Vikings fans packed Allegiant Stadium to help re-start the lawnmower of the Minnesota playoff hopes. And while the Husqvarna that is the Vikings offense managed only three points against the Raiders, it was a good weekend. Entering Week 14, five NFC teams were 6-6. The Vikings, despite scoring only one field goal for an entire game, were the only 6-6 team to win. The Seahawks lost, the Rams lost, the Falcons lost, and the Packers lost. That gives the 7-6 Vikings, currently the No. 6 seed, a one-game lead over the cluster of 6-7 teams. Despite scoring only three points. Throw in Detroit’s loss to the Bears, which dropped the Lions to 9-4, and the Vikings emerged from the weekend with another unexpected positive. With a two-game deficit and two games still to be played against the Lions, the Vikings can actually win the division by running the table. All that, after scoring the name number of points as the NHL’s Minnesota Wild did on Sunday. PFT
Entering week 14, There were five 6-6 teams in the NFC... only the Vikings (being one of the 6) won, 3-0. Maybe, just maybe, Valhalla and Odin had a hand in this.
The Vikings are officially turning to Nick Mullens. Head coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters in his Tuesday press conference that Mullens will start against the Bengals on Saturday afternoon. Mullens came in to finish Sunday’s 3-0 victory over the Vikings, completing 9-of-13 passes for 83 yards. He’ll replace Josh Dobbs, who started out hot with Minnesota but cooled off considerably over the last three games. He completed just 10-of-23 passes for 63 yards against the Raiders, taking five sacks. In the Nov. 27 loss to the Bears, Dobbs was 22-of-32 for 185 yards with a touchdown and four interceptions. Mullens hasn’t started a game since 2021 when he was with Cleveland. He started eight games for San Francisco in 2018 and another eight games for the club in 2020. Having entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Miss, Mullens has compiled a 5-12 record as a starter. He’s completed 65.4 percent of his career passes for 5,168 yards with 27 touchdowns and 23 interceptions. Mullens will be the fourth quarterback to start a game this year for the Vikings after Kirk Cousins, Jaren Hall, and Dobbs. Mullens spent time on injured reserve this season with a back issue.
Justin Jefferson says he’s playing Saturday Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said that wide receiver Justin Jefferson has a good chance of playing against the Bengals in Week 15 despite the chest injury he suffered last Sunday and Jefferson gave an even more positive response when he spoke to reporters on Wednesday. Jefferson said that he will be in the lineup this weekend and that he anticipates taking on a full workload. The Vikings listed him as limited in Tuesday’s practice. Jefferson was taken to the hospital after being injured in Las Vegas and said that they “had to evaluate everything that was going on with my body” even though he felt like he could continue playing. Jefferson cited internal bleeding and broken ribs as concerns that medical personnel wanted to rule out. The wideout said the final diagnosis was “an inner bruise, but nothing to really affect me” as he prepares to help the team take another step toward the postseason this Saturday. NBC
Nick Mullens is ok he brings a sense of calmness but I really wish they play Jaren Hall to see what you have ì don't get this
ŔED ALERT the Vikings are in desperate need of a center with some MUSLE where the hell is the push come and help the Defense sometimes be nice if you did,the game against the Bengals was so confusing and went wrong every which way as a Vikings fan it was pure heartbreak as a Bengals fan it was a great win
Report: Nick Mullens is expected to remain Vikings starter Nick Mullens became the fourth quarterback to start a game for the Vikings on Saturday and he had ups and downs in the 27-24 loss to the Bengals. Mullens threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns, but he was also picked off twice and he failed to convert a pair of quarterback sneaks for first downs in overtime before the Bengals won the game on an Evan McPherson field goal. It appears that the good outweighed the bad, however. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that the Vikings are expected to stick with Mullens for next Sunday’s game against the Lions, which makes sense given head coach Kevin O’Connell’s postgame comments about the quarterback. “I think the biggest thing is Nick showed he can execute our offense and, really, move the football team. I think what we’ve gotta continue to work through are those plays where we don’t try to do too much,” O’Connell said, via the team’s website. “We’ll evaluate it, but he did a lot of good things today. I liked the feel of both our run game and pass game, how it was kind of working together. But we’ll take a look at it, watch the film and make a decision moving forward.” The Vikings are one of four 7-7 teams in the NFC and that number will grow to five if the Seahawks beat the Eagles on Monday night, so there’s little margin for error for Minnesota in the final weeks of the regular season. That’s not an ideal position to be in with your fourth starting quarterback of the year, but it’s the one the Vikings are in and it looks like they’ll be counting on Mullens to guide them through it.
Mullens really moved the offense well. Its all those damn turnovers that did them in. (and 2 lame-assed attempts at the QB sneak)
I'm kind of wishy-washy on Nick Mullens he just reminds me of a poor man's Capt Kirk can he get the job done against the Packers and Lions KOC thinks he can me myself I'm not so sure GO VIKINGS yeah qb sneak was just pitiful Garrett Bradbury where was the push?
Hall is #2 behind Mullens now, Dobbs to 3rd on depth chart. If Mullens doesnt throw 2 INT's and juggle snaps, that game may have been different. I bet all the fans who bashed Cousins miss him right now.
Yeah I said some bad things about him your right I do miss him the Vikings Offense isn't the same without him you know what I miss the accuracy of Capt Kirk passes and how he threw wr's open
Are the Vikings satisfied being mediocre not bad but so so it don't change its been years of the same the Vikings QBs aways sucks lol
The Vikings will have a new playing surface next year. Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports that the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority has approved a $1.3 million bid to replace the silt-film turf at U.S. Bank Stadium with a monofilament version called Act Global Xtreme Turf DX. Silt-film turf has been associated with an elevated number of injuries and U.S. Bank Stadium is one of three venues — Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati are the others — still using it. The Vikings will install the same turf at their practice facility and worked with the MSFA, which owns and operates the stadium, to select the winning bid. The work in both venues will begin after the season ends and is expected to be complete in time for the 2024 stadium.
