Some may say that the HC - OC - QB is the most important part of any football team. our beloved team’s combination of that this season has been: Tomlin - Canada - Pickett Tomlin - Faulkner/Sullivan - Pickett Tomlin - Faulkner/Sullivan - Trubisky what’s the common denominator in all 3 combinations?
Tomlin doesn’t like to do anything that he doesn’t come up with. He’s headstrong and will never change if he didn’t want it in the first place. Rudolph should have played the second half.
Nope, somehow they’ll manage to finish 9-8 and Tomlin the great will continue…. How they get the 2 wins, anyone’s guess…. The fact they have 7 wins is amazing all in itself because they shouldn’t even have that many
4 games left and I’ll put money on it that Tomlin somehow has another meaningless 9-8 season to keep his non losing streak alive. If the Steelers were smart they’d trade Tomlin to the Bears for the number one overall pick
The ugly, for me, is that I haven't felt any real excitement about this team's championship prospects since 2017 and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Pickett will not work out but he's too big of an investment to give up on so he's here next year too. We have coordinators and a coach that clearly lack any innovation when it comes to the game. How in the name of all that is holy does Shane Steichen have the Colts at 7-5 when they won four games last year? How does Kyle Shanahan continue to churn out wins and draft talent. The Steelers need to rebuild from the top down but they won't because they are just average enough to squeak by and and go 9-8.
We would be better served if we lost the last four games, having said that realize that Tomlin is like stray cat a black one at that, and will find a way to win the two games to keep his streak alive. Roonie has to realize that 9-8 is not a good record and make a drastic change. We need a good offensive minded HC and hire a good defensive coordinator, or we could get the Brian Flores but that would require us to hire a good OC. Tomlin can’t get up from under the bus. We need a truly talented offensive coordinator.
You know that I’m serious because I changed my AV which I have had since the seebs days. I’m tired of this team screwing up my football season, even the last few years of Big Ben sucked. The standard is not being met. The standard is championship football not barely finishing at.500 Tomlin most go so this team can rebuild under another kind of leader. Player’s coach my ass. He’s letting the players run the team and it ain’t working no more.
You're tracking about a decade behind me. This is exactly the attitude i had in 2012 when the bears fired Lovie Smith after a 10 win season. As annoying as this period is for you, you've no idea the depths that can lie ahead. One thing for sure is Steelers ownership is an order of magnitude smarter than Bears ownership, so not sayin, just sayin.
Well, so far the AFC North is going fairly well. Not that it really matters if the Steelers can’t take care of their own business. Of course as I type this the Browns kill a Jaguars red zone possession. Bengals actually are playing well with their backup QB, Browns are up 7 with their backup QB. Just even more evidence of how inept the Steelers offense is
