This is also the Bears preferred short yardage fail move. So fucking dumb.

Followed by the slightly more original but equally ineffective TE tush push fail.

Yep, also when you line up the QB next to the RB you are telegraphing what side you are going to run to. Very hard(almost impossible) to line a RB up to the right of the QB then run to the left. QB under C and RB in the I and the D doesnt have this tip off.

The oh so smart OC will tell you the I tips the D off to the run when the shotgun keeps them honest in respecting the pass. Thats nonsense. If there's a RB in the backfield in shotgun 3rd/4th & short Defenses are still playing to stop the run.

I would argue that playing from under center with motion coming across the formation pre-snap does a lot more to confuse / take advantage of the defense than spreading out and running a static play out of the shotgun.

I'm sure they've got analytics that'll tell them one way or the other. And I'm SURE that they listen. Right? RIGHT? It can't be so simple that we see it and they ignore it. They're professionals. ... Right?

I really hate to see 3rd and forever and you run the ball. Its like you've gave up and you have no confidence in your QB.

All depends on the situation to me. There are times where a run play is the smartest play there.

    1. There is no #17.
    2. The Vikings don't appear to need any help getting there.
    3. If they do, they'll have to arm wrestle the Browns to stay there.

Aaron Rodgers even reiterated today, that he will play prior to Dec 24th, IF the Jets are in it. Am I the only one who thinks this is just total shit? What kind of a team player makes a decision like this based on Playoffs? Wouldnt a team baller just want to suit up and get out there and kick some ass for his team? If any one wanted to shut Rodgers down because of the 'no playoff contention' thing, it ought to be the HC, in my opinion, not that mushroomheaded, egotistical bastard.

    (couldnt help myself)

I thought the ground couldn’t aid a catch? That TD sure looked like the ball moved when it hit the ground.

Pete Carroll on NFL season-high 257 yards in penalties: We’ve got to get that out of football

The Cowboys and Seahawks played one of the most exciting games in the NFL this season, with Dallas coming back for a 41-35 victory. But it also was one of the most penalized games in the NFL this season, with the yellow flags giving it a start-stop feel.

Referee Clete Blackman and his crew stole the show with 25 called penalties, 19 accepted. It tied for the third-most flags in a game, and the 257 yards in penalties between the two teams was the most in an NFL game this season.

The 49ers and Browns, who played Oct. 15, had the previous high with 25 accepted penalties for 224 yards.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll wasn’t happy with the flag-fest that included 10 accepted penalties for 130 yards against his team.

“It’s unfortunate. It feels like there’s a whole other factor in this game,” Carroll said. “I don’t know. You guys saw it a lot better than I did, but there were just way too many penalties in this game from both sides, and we’ve got to get out of that kind of football.”

The Cowboys ended up with nine penalties for 127 yards.

“They were against both of us, and that bunch was throwing them,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. “That secondary was full of them. It’s frustrating, but they were calling them.”

Just a thought/opinion, but maybe the players need to stop committing penalties and coaches need to start emphasizing that.

I have an opinion on the Dallas Cowboys.

They have a super easy schedule this season and although they are 6-0 at home, they are just 3-3 on the road. When facing good teams like the Eagles and 49ers, they were beaten. Most of their wins came against the Giants (twice), Jets, Patriots, Panthers and Commanders... whoopie. When they went on the road to Arizona, the lowly Cardinals killed them.

Im saying they havnt proven a thing yet to me.
