I have a feeling this is going to be a way crazy game and the Vikings better be ready. The Broncos are believing in themselves, playing better ball and actually have something to play for. Minnesota is not a very good road team on grass surfaces, so that may be a factor too. If they aint ready they could get a big ol' butt whoopin'.
Vikings running back Alexander Mattison is making progress in his recovery from a concussion. Mattison did not practice at all on Wednesday, but the Vikings listed him as a limited participant on Thursday. He still have more boxes to check in order to clear the concussion protocol in time to play this weekend, but getting on the practice squad moves him closer to that goal. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson was also limited as he works his way back from the hamstring injury that’s kept him out of the last five games. Linebacker Brian Asamoah II (ankle), tight end T.J. Hockenson (ribs), and quarterback Nick Mullens (back) were also limited. Quarterback Jaren Hall (concussion) moved from limited to full participation. That could put him on track to back up Josh Dobbs, who was listed as full with an ankle injury for the second straight day.
Glad to hear Hall is back at it... I hope he gets the back-up gig going into Denver. I liked what I seen of him before getting his bell rung.
Everybody and their brother has; 'keys to the game' stuff. Here's mine - Hang on to the football and let Dobbs do his thing.
The Vikings have been winning without wide receiver Justin Jefferson and it will be a little longer before we know if they will have him back for Sunday night’s game in Denver. Jefferson has been listed as questionable to face the Broncos. He remains on injured reserve because of a hamstring injury and the team will have to activate him by 4 p.m. ET if he is going to play this weekend. Running back Alexander Mattison is also questionable to play. Mattison is in the concussion protocol and has progressed to taking part in practice, so he could be cleared to return in time to play. Cornerback Akayleb Evans (calf) and quarterback Jaren Hall (concussion) have been ruled out. Linebacker Brian Asamoah II (ankle), quarterback Nick Mullens (back), and guard Chris Reed (foot) are all listed as questionable.
Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is not ready to return. Jefferson wasn’t activated from injured reserve today and won’t play on Sunday night against the Broncos, according to multiple reports. Jefferson is the reigning NFL offensive player of the year and will be a huge boost to the Vikings’ passing game when he does return, but he’ll need at least another week to heal his injured hamstring. The Vikings went 1-4 in the five games Jefferson played and their season appeared to be in peril, but they’ve surprisingly gone 5-0 without Jefferson. Even with Kirk Cousins out for the season, backup quarterback Josh Dobbs has come in and played very well to keep Minnesota in playoff contention. The Broncos are three-point favorites on Sunday night.
Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson (hamstring) won’t return this week. The team did not activate him from injured reserve, so he will miss his sixth game. The Vikings will have backup quarterback Nick Mullens, however. The team activated Mullens from injured reserve, and he will serve as the backup quarterback to Joshua Dobbs on Sunday night. Jaren Hall remains out with a concussion. Mullens missed four weeks with a lower back injury but returned to practice this week. The Vikings also announced they elevated linebacker Anthony Barr and cornerback Joejuan Williams from the practice squad. Barr, who last played with the Vikings in 2021, signed with the team earlier this week with Jordan Hicks out. Williams will help replace Akayleb Evans, who is out with a calf injury. The Vikings ruled out offensive guard Chris Reed (foot) as he’s not yet ready to return from injured reserve.
So, 3 days from now, we will see a fine for the hit on Dobbs, but during the game... no call. what bull shit.
Why is Mattison playing I thought Ty Chandler would get a chance already a fumble and the Refs suck azz Dobbs is banged up but no TD just a fg Vikings 0 Broncos 3
