Minkah Fitzpatrick out, Cam Heyward set to play vs. Packers

The Steelers officially won’t have safety Minkah Fitzpatrick for another game.

Fitzpatrick has been ruled out of Sunday’s matchup with the Packers due to a hamstring injury. While head coach Mike Tomlin hinted Fitzpatrick might be able to make his way back to practice this week, Fitzpatrick ended up as a non-participant for all three days.

While defensive lineman Cam Heyward (groin) was limited on Wednesday and didn’t practice on Thursday, he has no game status and is slated to play. He was also limited in Friday’s session.

Defensive tackle Montravius Adams (ankle) is also out after he didn’t practice this week.

Linebacker Elandon Roberts (knee) is set to play. Nick Herbig (calf) was added to the injury report on Friday as a limited participant, but he’s also set to play.

The Lions are set to have running back David Montgomery and center Frank Ragnow back in the lineup this week.

Neither player received an injury designation on Friday’s final injury report ahead of Sunday’s game against the Chargers. Montgomery missed the last two games with injured ribs while Ragnow missed Week Eight with a toe injury.

While the bye week helped those two players get over the injury, the Lions have a few other injury issues heading into the weekend.

Guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai (back) is out and defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike (hip) is set to miss the game after landing a doubtful tag. Wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones (ribs) and tackle Dan Skipper (ribs) are both listed as questionable.

Michael Thomas placed in police car after allegedly pushing, threatening contractor

Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas was placed in a police car after a contractor in his neighborhood said Thomas pushed him and threatened him over where his vehicle was parked.

It is unclear if Thomas was arrested. The Saints have confirmed they are aware of the incident and gathering more details.

The contractor, Luis Cifuentes, told WDSU in New Orleans that on Friday at about 5:30 p.m., Thomas threw two bricks at his truck and pushed him over.

Cifuentes said he is the project manager for a home being built near Thomas’s home, and that Thomas complained that the construction crew was parking their vehicles on the street. Cifuentes says Thomas made threatening comments including that Cifuentes’ car would get a “brick or a bullet” if he parked where Thomas told him not to.

“He drives up, and I see him get out, and I was like, ‘I don’t know what he’s doing, I’m just worried about my job site,’ and he walks up to this big pile of sand and grabs a brick, and he throws it at my car, and the guys are like, ‘hey, man your truck, your truck!’ ‘Oh, dude, he’s actually doing something,’ so, I grab my phone and I start recording him, and he grabbed my phone and grabbed and pushed me,” Cifuentes said.

Cifuentes said he’s a fan of Thomas’s and was shocked at the way Thomas acted.

“I told him, I was like, ‘man, listen, I cheered for you every Sunday, I never once thought I would have an issue like this with you.’ So, now we’re here,” Cifuentes said.

Thomas, whose career has been plagued by injuries for the last three years, has played in all nine games this year. He is third on the Saints in both catches (38) and receiving yards (439). There has been no indication that the incident will prevent Thomas from playing on Sunday at Minnesota.

Police in Kenner, Louisiana, released a statement confirming that Thomas was arrested at approximately 7 p.m. on Friday after a construction worker at a house in Thomas’s neighborhood reported that Thomas picked up a brick and threw it at the windshield of the worker’s truck, then knocked the victim’s phone out of his hands and shoved him.

Police say Thomas was arrested without incident and was cooperative with the police. He was released at about 10 p.m.

For you fantasy ballers out there...

Jefferson (hamstring) was not activated off injured reserve Saturday and will not be available for Sunday's game against the Saints, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Head coach Kevin O'Connell tipped his hand earlier this week when he hinted it would be "a little aggressive" to say Jefferson would play Week 10. With the All-Pro wideout now out of the fold against the Saints, Jordan Addison and Brandon Powell will likely play a prominent role, especially if K.J. Osborn (concussion) is unable to suit up. Jefferson's next chance to play will come Week 11 against the Broncos.

Josh Jacobs to NFL after $21,855 for use of helmet: “Y’all gotta chill with the bs”

The biggest fine for Week 9 went to Raiders running back Josh Jacobs. The NFL imposed $21,855 on him for illegal use of his helmet, through lowering it to initiate contact with an opponent.

    Jacobs isn’t happy about it.

“Y’all gotta stop with the bs,” Jacobs tweeted, via BleacherReport.com.

The NFL has identified the play in question, by leaking it to an NFL Media employee. The rule generally, and broadly, prohibits lowering the helmet to initiate contact with an opponent.

In my opinion, Jacobs has a point. Not really a foul that I can see.

I agree that Pittman scored, a little surprised it was not challenged considering how many plays this season have seen fumbles at the GL. And Mac Jones is so inconsistent. Horrible throw on the pick by the end zone.
