We'll see. I haven't watched enough film on Alt to say whether I like him better or not, but Fashanu was my preferred OT last year, so I'm guessing he'll still be my preferred OT this year. Poles may indeed do that - he tends to not do what I would do - but either way, a top OT across from Wright is going to make this offense much better. If it's Alt, fine. Just invest in OT early.
I think he will be. But it definitely seems like he's missed a couple throws tonight, which is concerning. But hey - I'm fine with him looking like garbage while we get their first round pick.
I too prefer Fashanu. Think he makes a hell of a difference in passing downs. Ideally next to a new LG. Alt has been named all ncaa LT of the week way too often this year. More than Fashanu. It’s Notre dame so I’m naturally skeptical because they love loading up their schedule with cupcakes. He held up against Ohio State’s 3 guys likely to go rounds 1-3, and had an elite game against Clemson. Both are going top 10, barring injury/something stupid off the field.
So what’s up with Gervon Dexter? Dudes seldom on the field and he’s not hurt. Did Poles draft a guy who doesn’t fit the scheme because he’s never been a penetrating 3tech, only a read/react 5 tech in college.
Poles falls in love with and overdrafts physical potential. Dexter is a massive human. That's all Poles needed. Are you trying to say that's not working? What gives you that impression?
Gordon has really had a great second season as a nickel CB, after getting picked on his rookie season. Guy took his lumps, and seems like he's learning from them. Cool to see. Couple big plays in both passing and running game so far, tonight.
