Hamilton launched himself into Moore, this hit should earn him another week off.

The only thing weaker than his apology are the people trying to defended it saying it wasnt his fault it was gravity pulling the wr down that caused the helmet to helmet.

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s status for this Thursday’s game against the Saints is in question because of a knee injury he suffered in Sunday’s win over the Colts.

Head coach Doug Pederson called Lawrence day-to-day at a Monday press conference and the team listed Lawrence as a non-participant on their first practice report of the week. That’s just an estimation because the Jags only held a walkthrough and Pederson said the team may have Lawrence split practice reps with C.J. Beathard this week.

Beathard took the final kneeldowns of Sunday’s win after Lawrence exited the contest. He also went 2-of-2 for nine yards in Jacksonville’s Week Three loss to the Texans.

Cornerback Tyson Campbell (hamstring), wide receiver Zay Jones (knee), offensive lineman Walker Little (knee), and guard Brandon Scherff (ankle) were also estimated to miss practice. Defensive tackle Davon Hamilton (back) was listed as a full participant.

Monday Night Football: Cowboys overcome penalties, blunders to defeat Chargers

    upload_2023-10-17_4-7-38.png

The Cowboys and Chargers did not exactly put on an offensive exhibition on Monday night in Southern California.

But Dallas did enough to win, holding on for a 20-17 victory over Los Angeles to improve to 4-2 on the season.

Bengals OC Brian Callahan “just fuming” over offensive performance

The Bengals moved to 3-3 with a win over the Seahawks in Week Six, but offensive coordinator Brian Callahan didn’t find much to smile about when he reviewed the game.

Callahan’s unit produced 214 yards all day and only scored three points in the final 27:20 of the 17-13 victory. Callahan said that he doesn’t feel the team played well enough on offense to get a win and that “nobody coaching, nobody playing, has met our standard” for the desired level of play.

“I was on my couch last night watching on my iPad just fuming.” Callahan said, via James Rapien of SI.com. “We have too many good coaches, too many good players to not play to our standard we have set for ourselves.”

The Bengals have a bye in Week Seven that they can use to make adjustments to a unit that ranks 27th in points scored and last in offensive yards to this point in the season. If they can’t, it will be hard to consistently win games the way they did on their way to a division title in 2022.

Julio Jones is back to chase an elusive Super Bowl ring.

The seven-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro receiver signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, the team announced on Tuesday.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Jones will start out on the team's practice squad with the expectation that he will be quickly elevated to the 53-man roster one he gets up to speed.

The 34-year-old Jones starred with the Atlanta Falcons for the first decade of his career, leading the NFL in receiving yards twice, including an eye-popping 1,871 on 136 catches in 2015. The big-bodied receiver was a field-tilting weapon in Atlanta, able to stretch the field and snag the ball in traffic. He generated 12,896 yards and 848 catches in his first 10 seasons.

Then, injuries began to strike. In the past three seasons, Jones has played just 29 games with three teams due to injury issues.

The question is how much is left in the tank for Jones heading into his 13th NFL season. If it's even a fraction of what we were used to seeing, it's worth a flier for Philly. And it's worth it for Jones to go after a Lombardi Trophy.

I've seen some great defenses from the Steelers. This Browns D is right up there. It's still a long season but if they didn't have Chubb out, they could really be the class of the North. They may still be.

IF, the Browns could just get good QB play, they would challenge in the AFC in a surprising way. Definitely a Playoff threat as it stands right now (its early), but im waiting to see the billion dollar man take this team somewhere. Chub down is huge, he's a one of a kind RB, but 'plug n play' at the RB can work if the QB in control runs things on the level.

All the talking heads, writers and so on had the 49ers as the SB favs (rightfully so when healthy), but injuries can happen at any given time, which changes the whole scheme dramatically.

Sure, we have the Bills, Dolphins, Jags, Bengals and a few others in the stacked AFC, but, in my opinion, If Watson could do something similar to the glory days in Houston, this Browns team could be the AFC version of the 49ers as far as the hype train goes.

Im also NOT convinced the 49ers, even when healthy, are the cream of the crop, they have some history of key players going down and that is always a factor, obviously. If Purdy or CMC and others bite the big one, who are they then? Injuries bring a team back down to Earth at breakneck speed.

Side note - Im taking this Lions team seriously now, even more so than when the season started. Goff has been great, defense is good and they believe in something special is happening, which is important , imo... and im also a huge fan in Campbell at HC, he gets it done and has a smashmouth football mentality that he has orchestrated to the team and it seems to be working, at the moment, quite well.

Im rambling, but, if the Browns get things gelling, they are as much of a threat as anybody to go really deep.

    UPDATE...

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has a knee sprain that isn’t serious but threatens to keep him out of Thursday Night Football. Lawrence officially is questionable to play.

Lawrence has expressed optimism that he will play, but the Jaguars signed quarterback Nathan Rourke to the active roster Wednesday as insurance. Rourke will serve as C.J. Beathard’s backup if Lawrence can’t play and as the emergency third quarterback if Lawrence can play.

“As long as Trevor’s in a position where he can’t injure himself, or as long as he gives us the best chance to win the game and without risking himself . . . then that’s what we continue to do,” offensive coordinator Press Taylor said Tuesday, via Michael DiRocco of ESPN. “And again, that’s just conversation with everybody involved in the process.”

Lawrence returned to practice Tuesday and had another limited practice Wednesday. He has worn a brace on his left knee but has not decided whether to wear it in the game if he plays.

“Whether you decide to play or not, you’ve got to feel comfortable with what you’re doing and confident,” Lawrence said. “You’ve got to go play [like normal] because you can’t play this game hesitating at all. That’s a question that obviously everyone asks themselves when you’re dealing with anything.”

Lawrence has never missed a game in his four seasons, playing all 40 games. He missed only two games in his college career at Clemson, both in 2020, because of a neck injury and COVID-19.

The Jaguars ruled out cornerback Tyson Campbell (hamstring), defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton (back), receiver Zay Jones (knee) and offensive lineman Walker Little (knee). Offensive lineman Brandon Scherff (ankle) is questionable.
