I have a question based on Dead money. I understand the percentages on the various players contracts if they are cut or traded. What im confused on is what happens with the dead money total at seasons end or next years beginning. Does the Dead money subtract from our Cap Salary next season or is it subtracted from our Cap total at seasons end? Just curious as to how the Dead money is calculated and when. Thanks.

Those monies will count against your cap next season, specifically at the close of 2023.

Your rollover cap is added, your dead money is subtracted, and your total is based off the remainder left over from your active contracts.

 

I was guessing that, but relying on my hunches always gets me in deep trouble, so I appreciate the clarification. The less I think and brainstorm and try to cipher like Jethro Bodien, the better off the planet is.

I've got a cut and signing. I believe the cut player was on the PS for long enough and there shouldn't be any dead cap penalty.
