I might dispute Rodgers at this stage of his career or Fields for sure. But you’re talking just “arm talent”? Then yes, he’s not the slinger type
Matthew Stafford appreciation post! Guy is a legend for me. Saw someone shit-talking him the other day. Don’t understand why.
Cany argue with that. As we speak, Young is getting a bit unraveled at a very critical point of the game. Thats ok by me of course, but Dalton as a vet would be calm and cool, I would think. Experience at least.
You could probably swap either of those guys out with another name that would easily be justified ahead of Brock. He's a solid decision maker in an offense that works well with his skill set. There's nothing special arm wise, but there might be something special about his ability to play under pressure. We gotta see him in a game where they are down by 10 with the season on the line to learn more about his mental make up.
One more thing about Anthony Richardson though, and it piggybacks on what i said earlier. He needs to speed up not only his anticipation, but his decision making, for preservation purposes. I’ve seen him just in this game today, at least 4 times, throw from some super awkward position with a defender draped on him because he waited too long to make a decision. One of those awkward hits will catch up to him if he doesn’t start minimizing those situations. Like Dak’s broken ankle for example. Even if you have to lay down and accept a sack like Peyton or Brady did many times, sometimes that’s the smart play. He also just tied this game up
Yeah I’m excited about him overall. Just like I said pre-draft though, he’ll have to work on mechanical consistency and speed up decision making. The tools are wildly enticing.
Come on now Tim, is he a bottom 16 QB or a bottom 16 arm talent QB? Cos i know you know just what a world of difference there is here. If the fabled "arm talent" was all it took Jay Cutler would be top10 all-time lol.
Shit like this is why people say its rigged. Now, ive never said its rigged, never been a big conspiracy theorist in general....but that is the most blatant non called hold i have ever seen. Oh and it just happened on a huge play in favour of the NFL's darling team deep in the 4th Q of a cage match of a game. Non calls like this can't be allowed to happen. So so bad.
It happens every week, and in crucial times of the game. Live in game betting pretty much has forced the NFL's hand and they can't really hide how they are influencing the games anymore. Interesting report today about Deshaun Watson - "QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) was medically cleared to play but did not feel comfortable ahead of Sunday's loss to the Ravens, head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters." Medically good to go but decides to let his backup play??? Things like this are happening all the time fellas. Sure didn't help the team in a division game did it?
The funny thing is a flag was thrown. And I’m thinking “Good, of course they called that.” But it ended up being against the defense and the play stood. It was pretty bad in this case. Added fun note: didn’t Andy Reid just make a public statement this week about the NFL calling these more consistently? He said it, ironically, in defence of his other OT Jawaan Taylor who I believe got called twice in this game as well. Crazy ending indeed.
Adams has no clue where he is at right now. Jones leg clocked him in the head when Adams went low to take out the QB.
Taylor is the most penalized lineman in football in fact i think he is the most penalized player period.
Well . . . I'm at it again. Here's my latest (and maybe last) attempt at putting out a Power Ranking. The first thing you should notice is that I rank the AFC and NFC separately.
NFL - Random Opinions And to add context - This is what I posted after that: I like Purdy. I think he does a lot of good things in that offense, most importantly, he doesn't hurt them. But he definitely is in the bottom half of the league when it comes to arm talent. You can make an argument that he plays better football on Sundays than a lot of guys, but the arm argument is one that he doesn't win.
