Happens every time. Backup QB is the most talented one on the team, until he sees the field and he shows everyone why he's a backup. All things considered i thought he was impressive for this stage in his career. Def showed enough potential to be kept off the practise squad, he wouldn't have lasted a week there. But the key word is potential. There's a lot of development time that needs to go in first. You'd have to be brain dead to call for Badger after week 1 or week 2. Which is why its prob exactly what those mouth breathers on CCS were doing.
Any explanation for why Poles/Flus thought that cutting the backup QB and resigning him to the roster less than 24 hours later makes total sense?
Well, may I just say about this organization, just let that motherfucker burn. A box of urinal pucks went missing from the janitor's closet at Soldier Field and Alan Williams is selling them on eBay under the username squatcobbler27. I heard the explanation that the Bears were going after someone's PS player and they needed room, but if they put Jones on IR didn't they have the room for him already? Just let that motherfucker burn
Yeah, but if they put Jones on the IR the roster spot was already open they didn't need to cut Peterman to make room for the PS player to replace his spot on the roster.
Aviante Collins was signed to the roster when Jones was moved to IR. So adding another player would require a new spot.
Could be. For all we know they cut Peterman on accident because they filed the wrong paperwork with the league office.
I've never rated Eberflus, and i've not liked a lot of Poles' moves. But i would never have expected a Trestman vibe to be growing this strong this early.
While all this stuff pisses me off, this is probably the biggest one to me. This is definitely Trestman level bullshit. Give the team the rah-rah Kneecap biting speech that while he's not here, we're going to handle it and be better. Pass out some fucking Juiceboxes, lets rotate captains. The worst part is I am so down on this team, that my brain is trying to convince me that Fields is going to bounce back, they're going to adjust, it's still early, and so on. Stuff I objectively know isn't going to happen. I hate being a fan of this team. Also, how the fuck do we "miss out" on a practice squad player?
- Hate the guy, but he's not wrong. Trash. We are solidly in the laughing stock of the league territory again.
If he did this would be positive press to him, and everything he was trying to say without saying it.
Yes, While the Bears are misusing him it doesn't necessarily excuse why he continues to hold the ball so long and not see open receivers in front of him, nor does it excuse the badly designed plays that JT pointed out numerous times.
Only the Jets/Browns/Jags are worse over that time period. Has the last decade actually been worse than the 90s? Nagy/Trestman/Tucker/Emery/Pace/Cutler.
