I kind of stole the title from the Bearswire, but whatever.

Does anyone here (Bears Fans) have any predictions for the new season?

We in the NFC South got rid of Tom Brady and you guys got rid of Aaron Rogers. So that's a good start.

    We did?
I thought I just read that Brady is thinking of coming back.

They were saying that the day after he retired. And they'll be saying that for a couple of years to come. I still hear rumors about Drew Brees coming back. Just the usual off-season hype.

I'm a little out of the loop. I didn't know that Brees was gone.
    Oh man ...

But seriously, don't you think Rodgers is still a threat with the Jets?

Remember. It's the Jets. Bret Farve went there and did nothing for two years.

It'll be my first football season in Minnesota. Very excited. Training camp opens in four days for rookies, one week for the full team. That's pretty cool. First game is Aug 12, which is crazy to me - about two weeks' tops of training camp when you take out rest days. Doesn't feel like much.

With the new costs we've got (thanks, housing market), I doubt I'll be paying to watch football this year. So I'll probably catch opening day at the bar, and the two against the Vikings at the neighbors' house. Here's to hoping for a better season, and maybe one year of my life where the offensive line doesn't give me ulcers.

How has it been so far dline? Have you all settled in well? How's the newest Bears fan doing?
It is so weird, it feels like you wait forever after the last season ends for this one to start and then all of a sudden WHAM, we're just a few weeks away!

Talk to @tunafat he gave me some great tips on different places to stream the games. There are glitches but it's better than no football at all.

Settling in is relative - still a lot of unpacking and setting the house up to do. That process is always slower with a baby. But we're loving it here. So far, it seems to be one of the best decisions of our lives - a leap, no doubt, but a good one. I have some rather unkind words for Florida, now that we're gone.

The newest Bears fan is running around the house, opening doors, and generally making more trouble than he's worth. At least he's a happy kiddo while getting into all that trouble. Strong as an ox, too. Depending on how tall he ends up, my prayers for a decent Bears lineman might've been heard in an unexpected way.

    Thanks for asking :) <3

And yeah, the off-season is a slog until it's over, and then the season starts like a flash. Tuna is the man, no doubt. How's life treating you, babyfan?

So I guess we can finally lock down that left tackle spot in about 20 or so years, well that sounds like a plan to me.

It will be way more interesting watching the team this year, and while Adam Rank has them going 12-5, LMAO ( I really need some of the shit he's smoking) I'm not buying into the hype for this team or Fields just yet as history tells me going south is the more likely expectation. Will they improve? Hell yeah, but I think 8 wins is a more reasonable expectation.

That's awesome about your kid, what a great age that is! I have a grandson who will be 8 months old tomorrow, I think. He's an absolute dream ♥

I'm good, still teaching yoga and Tai Chi every day and loving it. I'm taking the month of August off since we'll be riding the bikes down in the States for 2 weeks and I won't be ready to get back to teaching until September anyway. We're aiming for Cape Hatteras this summer and we'll bounce around in different states wherever our whims take us.

    I miss you man!
How's your summer? How's your lady love? How are the dogs?

I think that by keeping our expectations lower, we'll protect ourselves from the inevitable disaster that happens every Bears season.

Exactly, you can apply that philosophy to life in general, and you'll be much happier overall, and then all the little positives are like a bonus because fewer expectations lead to fewer disappointments. I mean the shit can hit the fan and you can say to yourself with a smile, "Well at least the fan wasn't turned on."
We're all doing great, and things couldn't be better, well, except maybe the Bears but we'll see.

Hello all. I hope your offseason shave been going well. Dline I wish you nothing but the best of luck in your new place. We should know rather quickly if Fields has taken the next step and will be the first REAL QB in our life. That is really all I am caring about. The Dline is a hot mess, not being able to get after the QB will make the rest of the D look like shit. As for the O this is the o line they chose. Hope it works out or what kind of faith can you have in our you. GM?

    Hey Rob, welcome back!
A lot hinges on what Fields has learned over the last few months. Positive foot forward!

    Feeling a little better now.

I agree with Rob, the DL is going to be hot garbage. Local beat says they’re taking to Justin houston.

It’s good to be back. Just started a new job as the executive chef at a local university here on Long Island. Football team just moved up to division 1. NEC which is a shit division. The LIU Sharks. A true doormat but still cool to meet the coach and discuss how his pack will be fed.

Summer in Minn/Norther Wisc is fanastic. It's the Winter where your decision will actually be tested, heh. Glad to hear it's going well though.

Feels like a lot of money for him, he did well as the year went on last year and I'm glad we didn't lose him. I guess we have bundles in cap space so might as well.

Offseason sucks. Everyone is just repeating the same garbage because there's nothing new to say. Can Fields take the next step as a passer, will the oline be improved with the changes they made, will DJ Moore step up and be a true #1 threat, will Chase Claypool not suck, the defense will have to be much improved, because there's no way they could be worse.

And then you have the other teams. The Packers lose Rodgers and are going to be *better* this year for it? The Lions shit the bed for the first half of the season last year, but hey, they beat the Packers the last week of the season so now....they're going to win the division? The Vikings were frauds last year for sure, but also still the class of the division, have the best WR in football and they are....going to suck? It's all such nonsense. I can't wait until we can see some games being played, even if it's just pre-season. Of all of these, the Lions love is honestly making me sick. Yeah, they had a good appearance on hard knocks last year, THEY ARE STILL THE LIONS. Fuck people, can we wait until they win a fucking playoff game before we start sucking them off? I'm not saying they're going to be bad or anything, but locking them in as division winners, when TAMPA FUCKING BAY won the division more recently than them, I mean, come on.
