Just like Wisconsin is best for DL and LB

    So let’s say Eagles took
JPJ @30 what would you do
At 32? I’m wondering if Nolan Smith was at the top Of their board ? He’s best buddies with B. Jones .

Maybe Nolan, but trading down would be more attractive.
    Khan received offers

3 Georgia players would have been awesome

Yes but the Titans offer sucked. Their 3rd, which was pick 72 and 41, next years third What if the Titans ball out and their pick is 88 in 2024? You got a guy with a 1.15 grade on Joey Porter Jr. Basically they ended up with 2 first round picks. So let's assuming JPJ was picked 33-40. The BPA @ 41 would have been Brian Branch or BJ Ojulari. Julilus Brents was off the board which I think would have been their target. . Both CB they took were tall guys with long arms and big hands, like Brents. Nobody could have predicted the run on TE, it was simply not worth the gamble.

25 Random thoughts on the draft.

    1. What the hell was that day 3, it was like speed dating and musical chairs mixed together. Picks were coming in really quick.
    2. 40 Years of doing the draft, Mel Kiper hit a milestone. He still sucks, because his BPA's were nowhere near what teams had. He supposedly has contacts and inside info, not buying it because he would have dropped RIngo, Washington, etc..
    3. The reason I knock Mel, is this is his job, be a draft expert, Me I'm no slouch but I mean without medical and interviews what the hell does nybites know anyway, But I did have Tyree Wilson #2 on my board, Kiper had him 16. :)
    4. I am going to come clean I did not have Anderson on my board, their 7th round pick, StlCrtn gave me the intel on him.
    5. Here is where we as Steeler fans can guess better than some of the jagovs on tv of who they will take. Benton was the pick, higher than Dexter, and it was a weak DT class period. Plus we knew he was high character and a roster need.
    6. Nick Herbig's big brother was pounding the table for his little brother telling the brass on how he was hard to block, sometimes that's inside info the Kipers and McShays just don't have.
    7. PFF if you base a draft on analytics, grades, etc.., it just doesn't work. 100% Character is never factored in, nor is injury. Case and point most of the country did not know Ringo had put on weight and Washington's knees were swolen.
    8. I would not be afraid of TJ going up against Dewand Jones. All he has to do is chuck few M&M's on the Line of Scrimage pre snap.
    9. Eagles and Patriots killed it with the exception of some of the small school WTF too early picks I though were reaches.
    10. Steelers are offering a home Environment for their players. Not just siblings, but drafting from the same team. Dudes will be buddies and not strangers in the locker room, trust me I think that helps these young guys.
    11. This is my last straw for Matt Canada. If they cannot run the fucking ball with Seamalu, Jones, and Washington or throw the ball with Robinson and Washington and upgraded pass pro, hen he needs to pack his shit and leave.
12, The Rams, they gave away their superbowl talent in trades, and cuts and used all their picks to fill a roster with late round dumpster diving. Me thinks they finish last in the Division again.
13.The Punter that Hoodie drafted, Bryce Barringer, will help them win at least one game, he has these 50 yard bombs, that land and stick like a gap wedge.
    14. Every single pick they made (except 251) I had a good inclination of what the pick would be. I wish I had to balls to post it more often and earlier, probably because I am superstitious.
    15. Cory Trice was on DJ's top 150, I think I had him at 104. I liked all 4 of the Purdue guys, including Payne Durham, Charlie Jones, and Aiden O'Connell.
    16. Other than the Safety pick, I killed it in the Collaborative Draft. Wright 10, Breese 25. Brents 38 Jones 119 have to look up where my other picks went.
    17. All this hype on Jalen Hyatt, I guess running a route tree is important, not just run like a muther fucker and Hooker will hit you long. Drops stick in dirt, huddle breaks.
    18. Back to Mel, he did create more interest in the draft, yes. But I think he was early to the party same as Berman. But to call these guys Pioneers is a stretch. The way the NFL, internet, and social media evolved it was gonna happen anyways.
    19. Unless we play the Packers, I am rooting for Karl Brooks. Never met the young man, but I just have this feeling he is going to be a very solid pro and continue to have high character. Don't be shocked if we pick him up in 3 years as a free agent. ;)
    20. The Kahn Man did a great job, and guess what we still have all our picks in 2024. I hope I never have to watch a draft where Pittsburgh doesn't take a pick for 2 hours. Damn that was a total buzzkill.
    21. Damn I had Ricks pretty low, but not like in the 200's and not draftable. Eagles did sign him, I guess his work ethic was the issue and in Saban's dog house. Once a 5 star recruit who transferred from LSU.
    22. I think putting a board together is educational, but unlike in 2013 I did not share it this year. Personal reasons, and maybe some uncertainty. I did put a lot of work into it, but I was not happy with the product.
    23. I miss the draft on the weekends. I don't like all the yelling and hoopig it up fan fare on the microphone, but man Alan Faneca was professional, mentioned Steeler Nation but no hand jestures or raising the roof signs, that shit got old.
    24. Give me more Military making the picks. Give me more cancer survivors and widows of veterans making the picks. Hell wheel out a wounded veteran to slap us all in the face to remind all of us of what they gave for our freedom.
    25. Loved Goodell getting booed, not quite as good as Lets Go Brandon, but I'll take it.

    Javon Bullard Georgia S
. Sedric Van Pran Georgia OC
    Blake Corum Michigan RB

    1. Day 3 I fell asleep at the beginning. Went to bed halfway through Day 1 and 2. Missed more live draft than I had in years. Caught most on DVR. Still hate the schedule.
    2. Part of the issue is that Mel's opinion is just an opinion. He's as wrong as anybody else. Check the Johnny Manziel love. Then other media proliferates his mocks like they're the blueprint. Suckers. Steelers do their own research.
    3. I think Mel likes measurables /numbers too much.
    6. Nick Herbig has good film and was the Big 10 sack leader. Draft position value.
    8. TJ is not scared of anyone. Dewand is more of a PT Barnum pick to me.
    10. Coach Austin: "JPJ doesn't have to adjust to a new city like most players. He lives here."
    11. Canada feels the short leash. He stinks this up he may not last the season.
    18. Bill Nunn was a pioneer of the draft. He smashed the small-school and HBCU biases. Helped create the Steelers dynasty. And Dan Rooney was open-minded and smart enough to hire him.
    23. Saturday draft was THE BEST. I also wonder if Roger Rammit will ever give Pittsburgh the draft location. Art Ii needs to flex on him.
24/25. I wonder if old Roger uses guests as a boo shield.....

I love Corum but he’s probably going 2nd round next year.
Morris went in the 5th to Seattle

Whitherspoon to the coaches office. Pack your bags and get out of here.

Yeah he was once a consideration in the late second or 3rd round.

You could be right, but the new rule with the practice squad, you might keep him around, experience and familiarity with the Steelers. Someone smarter than me once said, You can't have enough Corner Backs.

He’ll probably last until final cuts as injury insurance, but yes odds are he has played his last down for the Steelers

Is this it for Dotson too? They usually keep 8 OL?
