Those boys on the Kiper board are probably losing their minds. They loved him. I like him too. Fit will be interesting, he's a bit of a tweener, but my man knows how to bend the edge. So he's got 3rd down value at least.
@Willie I really like the Jay Ward pick. He's an intelligent player, from a big program. And an athlete. Pretty good pick after adding a future pick.
This makes it official... great move by the Vikings to trade earlier. Minnesota had the #119. They would have been just fine taking Ward right then. Instead they got Ward and a bonus 5th rounder last year.
On to round five! Noteworthy moment in round 4 that hasn't really been noted yet... the Patriots traded UP ... with the JETS, no less ... to take a kicker. In this draft, anything can happen.
JUst Die hards posting now, me I have to step away, we don't pick for another 100 picks. Run on backup QB here.
Another sign of just how weak this draft class is. Normally a lot of us are still tuning in because there are still so many solid prospects to be had in the fifth. This year? Right now I'm more interested in NFL-N's upcoming coverag of the dog rescue, Run Rich Run and Stump The Truck than what my own team is going to do in rounds 5-7.
Clayton Tune to Arizona. DTR to Cleveland. I'm happy about this because Wes asked me to pick a QB for him in the 6th, and Tune was my choice. So I did right by the Raiders and got them a riser.
Kiper was so pissed that HIS #3 overall rated player Will Levis wasn’t drafted in round 1. It’s pretty sad though, when you do a mock draft and have another QB going #2 overall, but rated lower than Levis whom he had going #4 overall.
Flashback to 1994 when he was oh so pissed that his beloved Colts took some bum named Marshall Faulk instead of the can't miss phenom QBs Heath Shuler and Trent Dilfer.
Yeah, are they perrenially trying to fix the DB group?? Feel like they've drafted 3+ DBs 3 of the last 4 years. Or is this half my imagination at this point? Hope you’re right. I’m not a Julius Brent’s guy honestly. Too much holding, struggle with route technicians. Coincidentally the position my current GM, who I love, has probably struggled the most to draft. We find UDFAs who are good #3-4 CBs. But the drafting…not as nice.
Ya, I accidentally hit the post button on the touchscreen while putting the initial message together and had to edit to fill in the rest.
Browns follow that up by taking Cameron Mitchell. Does anyone else immediately think of the late actor when seeing that name?
Just goes to show timing can be equally as, if not more important, than talent. He’s F’ing clueless. But thanks largely to starting early, is still considered a bigshot in the industry
Like he has paid his mortgage, fed his family, and survived his entire working life being at best slightly above average at what he does. How many people get that lucky?
