Please Vikings don't fall for hype cause I remember the hype around Troy Williamson South Carolina Mike Mayok and other talking heads were just raving about this guy he turn out to be nothing but a bust which why Will Levis Kentucky makes me nervous
Im not real high at all on Levis and I dont really know why. Some talking heads have said this QB class is overrated, so with that being said, watch them all be HOF'ers, lol.
I really like the 1st round pick for the Vikings, I think it was great... I sure hope they can trade up to get a 2nd rounder tho, that would be ideal. Vikings select Jordan Addison, Wide Receiver, USC. Addison won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top receiver in 2021 while playing with Kenny Pickett at Pittsburgh after grabbing 100 receptions for 1,593 receiving yards and 17 receiving TD. In 2022, he went to USC and played with Caleb Williams and had 59 receptions for 875 yards and 8 TDs. He is a very efficient route runner and natural pass-catcher. Some people felt he was the top receiver in the draft.
I liked the pick also getting Justin Jefferson some help was a must I know Capt Kirk is a happy man now they can concentrate on the defense it's Brian Flores show, what the Texans did last night was slick
They (Texans) knocked it out of the park, but they have a lotta picks and leverage to do so and they did well... might as well grab what you can get early, because it thins out quickly, imo.
Jordan Addison: "They (Vikings) told me they were going to come grab me" The Minnesota Vikings selected USC wide receiver Jordan Addison at 23rd overall. His selection makes him the direct replacement for Adam Thielen who signed with the Carolina Panthers this offseason. He did visit TCO Performance Center on a top-30 visit and the Vikings told him on the way out the door that they were going to take him. In speaking with the media after the pick, Addison told reporters as such. “They (Vikings) told me they were going to come grab me” It makes sense with how Addison plays football. He is a very savvy receiver that just understands how to get open. He said this during the press conference. “Make plays, catch the ball, score touchdowns.” Get excited Vikings fans. Addison is here to ball. VIKINGSWIRE
Kevin O’Connell: We felt like Jordan Addison was one of the premier players at receiver The Vikings brought in another first-round receiver by selecting Jordan Addison with the 23rd overall pick on Thursday night. Addison was part of a string of receivers to come off the board at that point in the first round. While he clearly fills a need for Minnesota after longtime receiver Adam Thielen‘s departure, Addison was also one of the best players left. “I think a lot of people always talk about the best-player-available thing. It was one of those scenarios where the way the board kind of fell for us, it allowed it to kind of check both boxes,” O’Connell said Thursday night. “It was a need for us, obviously, [after] the departure of a great player like Adam Thielen, so we wanted to make sure that if a true impact player at that position was available at our pick that we were prepared for it. “We did a lot of work on that group and felt like Jordan Addison was one of the premier players at that position available, and we were very fortunate that he was there at 23. Really, really excited to add him to our team.” O’Connell touted Addison’s versatility, saying that he should be able to play in different receiver spots within the offense. “I think he’s very well aware of how we plan to use him, how he fits with Justin [Jefferson], and KJ [Osborn], Jalen [Reagor], and Jalen [Nailor] and the rest of our receiver room, but also T.J. [Hockenson] and our ability to activate the rest of our tight ends and our backs in the passing game,” O’Connell said. “It truly gives you a pretty versatile skill set, and now adding that impact player at such a priority position for how we like to move the football and kind of put it all together, it’s a big deal for us.” Last season at USC, Addison caught 59 passes for 875 yards with eight touchdowns. The year before at Pitt, he tallied 100 receptions for 1,593 yards with 17 TDs. PFT
After trading down from No. 87 with the San Francisco 49ers, the Minnesota Vikings selected USC CB Mekhi Blackmon at No. 102 overall. The pick, which was the final selection on day two, was announced by former Vikings first round pick in 1993 Robert Smith. Blackmon was a talented player in the secondary for the Trojans and has some of the measurables that the Vikings prioritize. The most notable one is the 10-yard split where Blackmon’s 1.47-second split is in the 98.5th percentile. His size leaves some to be desired, especially weighing only 178 lbs. Pro Football Focus had Blackmon ranked as one of only two players in college football last year with grades of 85 or higher in both man and zone coverage. In trading down 15 spots, the Vikings gained picks 164 and 222, giving them five more selections for the remainder of the 2023 NFL Draft. While Blackmon’s technique isn’t perfect, he’s constantly trying to get in the right position, which helps him stay in the play. There were very few times on tape that Blackmon was entirely out of position, which is half the battle in the NFL. Even if he struggles with the finer techniques, Blackmon will contribute immediately at the next level. VIKINGS WIRE
If Kwesi is targeting a QB today, these 5 should be considered... Dorian Thompson-Robinson (UCLA), Jake Haener (Fresno State), Jaren Hall (BYU), Tanner McKee (Stanford), and Clayton Tune (Houston) are the candidates. He better start getting aggressive.
I have no IDEA what this guy is doing it was just amazing to me how teams were trading up and the Vikings did nothing why didn't they trade up and the Giants got the center from Minnesota I was so pissed and no Cody Mauch and no stud D-lineman so far....I just laughed when the Lions picked Hendon Hooker the Lions gave the Vikings the middle finger courtesy of Dan Campbell
EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Saturday used the 222nd overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft to select University of Alabama-Birmingham running back DeWayne McBride. He played in 30 games at UAB, totaling 484 carries for 3,523 rushing yards (7.3 yards per carry) and 36 touchdowns from 2020-22. Last season, he rushed 233 times for 1,713 yards and 19 scores, leading FBS with an average gain of 7.35 yards per carry. Listed at 5-foot-10 and 209 points, McBride was rated as the No. 5 running back in this year's class by ESPN's Mel Kiper, Jr., and Pro Football Focus. ________ __________________ Those are some smokin hot stats!

Kwesi Adofo-Mensah: Door is not closed on Kirk Cousins extension The Vikings were seen as a potential landing spot for a quarterback early in this year’s draft because Kirk Cousins is heading into the final year of his contract and they talked about an ideal situation of having his successor sit behind him for a year, but the team did not add a quarterback to the roster until they drafted Jaren Hall in the fifth round. General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said on Saturday that he “can’t do that” when asked if he would say Hall is a potential heir to Cousins under center and he said “every option is open to us going forward” at quarterback. That includes a contract extension, which was something the two sides talked about earlier in the offseason without coming to an agreement. “When you go into a contract negotiation, you’re trying to come up with solutions together” Adofo-Mensah said, via Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com. “It’s not just what Kwesi wants or what the Vikings want or what Kirk wants. It’s what we can do together to ultimately put up that Lombardi. Sometimes you come to a place where you decide, ‘Hey, let’s talk later. This is a solution for now.’ That’s all that’s happened.” Adofo-Mensah said Cousins “doesn’t need to do show anything to me” in order for the team to want to move forward with him beyond the 2023 season, but finding a price that works for everyone has thus far proven elusive and thoughts about what that means for the future will remain part of the conversation unless that changes.
