Lol, did you intend to go for "whiny bitch" with this post?

Since you cant give it up and are explaining stuff to us all why dont you explain again why it was ok for a multiple time speeding offender to go street racing which resulted in people dying.

You were doing much better when you were on your moral high horse about the crushingly important social justice issue of sports team nicknames.

As for Carter himself, that feels like one of the best places he could've landed. If he can keep out of his own way a great career could await.

Seems like it can go one of two ways for him now. Either this incident gave him the fright of his life and he straightens out and stops being a speeding/street racing punk. Or, given an established pattern of behavior, this turns out to be a problem of a habitual nature in which case it will happen again and he will eventually be in trouble again, probably worse since he copped a charge this time. We'll see.

Im thinking because they spent a lot during free agency on the defense, Smith decided to load up on offense and that makes sense to me. Cordarelle Patterson can take a break from being 'the man', share the work load with Bijan which leaves Tyler Allegeir to do the short yardage stuff. I think its a smart move. Robinson, in my mind, is probably one of the top 5 prospects out there and the only reason he would fall or be looked over is just because of the position he plays.

With that run on receivers according to NFL Network's Rich Eisen, it was the first instance of four straight wideout selections in the NFL modern era.

Hard to argue with that. After years of Bill taking secondary players well above where the field thought they'd be, he grabs a guy who seems to have genuine early round talent later than where the field thought he might go. Gotta be happy with that change of pace. Should be fun to see him as a Patriot.

Bengals had no need for a defensive lineman. Especially with Trey Hendrickson and Sam Hubbard. This was an absolutely wasted pick by the Bengals proving once again that the Duke Tobin and the Brown family can not draft unless it is a silver spoon kid.

Couple thoughts on the draft - for all the talk about 4-5 QB's going early, this round turned out the way it should have. Young and Stroud were the only guys worth a first round pick based on their current play, and Richardson warranted an early pick by a desperate team because of his ceiling. That's fair. As much as I would've liked to see other QB's go, pushing talent down the board, there just wasn't justification for overdrafting anyone else.

OT continues to be a position that teams want to invest in, even when the talent this year isn't notable. Again, that's showing that the GM's are generally smarter than the pre-draft hype.

I love what both the Texans and Cardinals did. Texans saw the guys they wanted at premium positions that could change their franchise, and they got them. The Cardinals picked up a bunch of extra capital and still got their guy at a premium position. Big wins for both of them.

The Eagles continue to invest in the trenches. That's why they're a winning franchise. Pretty crazy that they're basically just trotting out Georgia's defensive front, for the next handful of years at least. But you can never go wrong dedicating first round picks to the line of scrimmage on either side of the ball.

The Lions are either going to look real smart or real dumb. I have a feeling it's the latter, but we'll see.

I didn't think that Van Ness was a particularly notable talent, but he did one or two things really, really well. Whether or not he can expand on that to be a premium player at the next level remains to be seen, but he is going to a team in Green Bay that is going to make the most of the one or two things he does really well, and I don't like that.

My bet is that anyone that selected a pass rusher in this draft, save for maybe Anderson and Carter, is probably going to end up having overdrafted a mediocre player. There will be exceptions, but I had a hard time finding a pass rusher that jumped off the tape to me.

^^^^ is why I think the Bengals absolutely crapped the bed in the first round. Joey Porter Jr. is still there, you need help in the secondary, it would have been an absolute steal to watch the son of a Steelers great playing for the enemy.

Now the Steelers need to get Jr. He’s right there in their laps. Don’t go chasing waterfalls.

Nevermind my previous post... I just read this. Bengals and Lions both surprised me with their picks.

Also sounds like they think Bijan can be more than an RB... another swiss army knife kinda guy like Patterson...

General Manager Terry Fontenot said Robinson’s “versatility, the impact that he’s going to make” was appealing because they want to play “positionless football” with players like Kyle Pitts, Drake London, Tyler Allegier, and Cordarrelle Patterson. Head coach Arthur Smith followed the same line of thought when sharing his view of why Robinson was worth a top 10 pick.

“Yeah, conventional wisdom, he’s a lot more than a running back,” Smith said, via Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com. “He’s an impact football player.”

Definitely the best of show, imo.

Many think the Texans gave up too much to move up... Well, I disagree. The drop off from #3 (Will Anderson Jr., specifically) to #12 is extreme. With the additions they made, they hope to be picking much lower in 2024. They still have 10 picks left in this draft including (2) 3rd round picks and (2) 4th round picks. In 2024, they also still have the Browns 1st round, their own 2nd round, (2) 4th round picks, their 5th and (2) 6th and 7th round picks for a total of 9 picks. With this trade for Anderson, they certainly aren't hurting for draft capital.

They gave up 12, 33, 2024 1st and 4th, but got a 2023 4th back in the deal. Will Anderson looks the part of a generational player. I'm not sure there is another player in the draft I feel that way about. Obviously we aren't in tune with 2024, but if you have your QB, getting a player like Anderson could be franchise changing. Big jump from 12 to 3. Not only that, it was genius taking Stroud first, as it cleared out a lot of interested parties that would have otherwise been willing to trade with the Cards.

In the meantime, the Cardinals, took that extra draft capital and made a brilliant move. At the end of the day, they moved up one spot in the 2nd, moved up from 168th to 81st overall, and gained a 2024 first round pick, but imho still got the player they were going to take at #3. I believe their plan all along was to protect their QB better and that's what they did. A healthy Kyler Murray increases their chance of winning immensely.

This was always a lackluster draft class. These two teams made the most of what was available to help their teams. I trust all 3 players they drafted, out of about 6 that I would trust moving forward. I also think Young, Wright and Robinson will have immediate impacts to their teams. I'm not 100% sold on any other player in this draft. There is a lot of upside, but the floors of all the others players are also fairly low.

The rest of the top ten:
Richardson is what he is, an extremely raw talent with about as high a ceiling as we have seen a player come out with. Just as high as his ceiling is, the floor is that low. When you look up risk reward in the 2023 NFL draft dictionary, his picture is shown.
Witherspoon has undeniable talent, but he plays with such reckless abandon that it also wouldn't surprise me if he spends just as much time on IR as in games. He will have to learn to control his play against bigger and more experienced players at the next level.
Tyree Wilson, just a consistent player. I might be missing something, but I just don't see a franchise changer. He will be a good piece to the puzzle for the Raiders, but it won't be an immediate impact imo.
Jalen Carter... I mentioned trust above. I lost all love for trusting players that make bad decisions when we drafted Kellon Winslow Jr. He has a history of making bad decisions, I'm not sure he will learn from the mistakes he's made.
Darnell Wright, solid pick at 10, I actually think this was the next best pick of the entire first round outside of the top 3 picks. The fit/talent level was a perfect match. Getting an extra 3rd rounder to boot made this even sweeter. I don't think Darnell Wright is a generational player, but that's because he is a RIGHT TACKLE, it doesn't get much better than him at his position though. Right tackles aren't the saviors of the NFL, but I'm pretty sure Justin Fields was toasting the pick when it happened.

I mean in our mock, I went TE, I went with Mayers from ND, who was still available. Any RB but Bijan is a reach first round

It was just dropped into their laps... No way they can mess it up... Is there??
