How everyone dealing with anxiety today? I had a hard time to sleep last night, so I did what every normal people would do....went to scout prospects tapes and Pro Day numbers....and now I have two guy I want to sign here for Denver that I wish I knew them before to have drafted them lol
A big part of "Easier" = fewer total players involved. Five players higher and five lower in each round plus five UDFAs picked to get drafted would be 75 players per contestant, and then the "picked correctly" gets added on to that. But the really hard part is whoever is scoring has to track all the different players picked by anybody. That's why the pick range thing is a lazy/easy. I think last year I used a range of 20 players, but that was it - the grand total was only 20 players involved, and it was the same set of players for everybody.
No anxiety today, more of relief. Keep in mind only 200 some odd players are drafted out of thousands of eligible players. Keep in mind the difference between being top 1% and top .0001% is that top 1% at football is selling insurance and top.0001% is making millions of dollars play a game he is a bit better at than 1%. If you want a list of names... there are places.

Definitely anxious about the Colts pick. Has to be the most anxiety I’ve had for a Colts pick in…maybe ever. Definitely in the last decade. I’m a little embarrassed to be the guy I’ve often laughed at. But there’s just years of success or failure quite literally baked into a single decision. If we get it wrong, not only is it annoying in the moment, but instantly my franchise will have wasted 3-4 years of my fan life by committing to mediocrity, or worse. On the bright side, I can commit a little more emotionally to the secondary teams I follow.
Yup. I had a different thing I was going to try this year for the extra UDFAs, but Joe changed it for purposes of the Challenge. At this point I think the best approach is something different. Instead of autofilling UDFAs, when we nail down what the Challenge will be we'll just "freeze" the spreadsheet temporarily while everyone is making their Challenge entries. (Anyone can still name their UDFAs during that time but I won't add them to the spreadsheet quite yet, and they won't be in the UDFA group for whatever the Challenge turns out to be. They would be in the "totally ignored" group instead, if that is an actual group this year.)
Oh you can bet I'm gonna not be thrilled paying a CB 4/5 7m per year for this year. Which is the price if Lions take a corner at #6.
The Colorado Avalanche saved some years of total sadness for me. And now I'm happy to see the Cubs doing great again too.
I'd prefer not to even autofill the last two 7th round picks if possible and just let the names get filled in eventually. For the Challenge there are still 40 names to choose from for round 7 even without the two missing picks.
For me it was watching Hawthorn in the Australian Football League get good in the exact years when the Falcons collapsed. And now pretty much every Aussie Rules game gets broadcast here, so I have a stack of about 16 games on the DVR still waiting for me to skim through them when I get through the current work rush.
For this year I will stick to last year’s draft value challenge rules.
