For purposes of the Draft Value Challenge, I think Joe plans to fill in the missing UDFA names and any remaining unmade picks at some point tomorrow. UDFA's #3 and #4 are totally optional, and I don't think Joe intends to autofill those. (I'm guessing by then there will be a LOT of Stump The Truck names.)
Everyone has just been keeping track of them themselves. Next year with Torgo's new system it MIGHT be possible to automate it.
You know what, I debated this one sooo much for the Colts. I already drafted 3 OLs. Let me explain. Later on in the draft I more thoroughly checked out team interviews for guys I hadn’t heard of. Ilm Manning, Hawaii’s most notable draft prospect, is probably in the top 10 this year for names reported to have met with the most teams. Other guys off the top of my head include Emmanuel Forbes, Payne Durham, Bernard-Converse, among others. But Point is I watched his tape late. Like last 48 hours late. And honestly it blew me away. For a UDFA just watch how this guy moves. There’s guys who WILL get drafted in the first round that don’t move this smoothly. LT #75 So considering that I legitimately think he might be the best player available regardless of need, but also that we have a new Head Coach and OC bringing in a new scheme, I think I can justify adding another guy to compete for a spot on the O-line even if I already drafted heavy at the position. I wanted to hit elsewhere, but I would have been frustrated if I lost out on him. I think at the very least with our new franchise QB on board, the depth of our O-line would become near the tops in the league.
Why would you need to justify it? It's a UDFA from a thin draft class, so you aren't missing out on all that much by not signing someone else instead. Plus you'll have at least two more UDFAs tomorrow if you want them. At this point, if a player has traits you like, that's all the justification you need.
I'll check this in the morning. Send in Votes. If we are lucky we can still finish this by the draft.
It might be a problem (and a lot of work) to automate it on a team by team basis on our end. But what I have in mind would end up having all the pick numbers next to the player names on the big list (the "Sheet 19" page this year). Anyone wanting to use it to get their picks would also be able to copy the list, paste it into a spreadsheet, and sort by team (or filter) to get your own team's picks. The challenge on our end is that we will need the big board to remain sorted by player name while we're doing the tracking, so you'd need to make your own copy to sort it by team.
Panthers UDFA signing: Habakkuk Baldonado, EDGE, Pitt Ravens UDFA signing: Quintin Barrow, IOL, Grand Valley St.
Hey guys I'm in the hospital. I think it's food poisoning with a side of a virus or something from an ear infection. My ear hurt a bit all day and tonight right when the Heat won I felt "off". 5 minutes later I'm upchucking mangos and clam chowder. So don't expect me to update anything today. Once I'm free I'll probably be sleeping in until around 4.
