(Proof that I don't just have a thing against Pittsburgh. ) (Actually, the concert that I saw the one time I was there was amazing. Marillion, from their 1997 tour, playing at Graffiti Junction. Fun fact: that tour and particularly that weekend is credited with creating modern crowdfunding as we know it. The band's record label went bankrupt and they weren't going to be able to come to the U.S. They broke the news to fans on an internet chat room. The fans asked if they would come if we funded it ourselves. At first they didn't think we were serious, and one of them jokingly said, umm, sure, whatever. Three days later we had already raised 35% of the needed funds. Obviously that got their attention. They said they'd record the shows on the tour, select one and release it on CD as a special live album only given to the tour fund donors. That kicked things into overdrive and the fund ended up at 150% of its goal. The Rochester show from the next night ended up being the show on the special CDs. )
