Peter King thinks we are going WR. Dude needs to retire. I really think there are 5-6 guys at 17 they go with. Johnson, Jones, Wright, Porter Jr, Van Ness, Banks. Tomlin indicated they are open for trading at 32, hope they don't slide back too far. But doing this Collaborative Mock, I am seeing some good Dudes going in the 5th and 6th.

 

I agree with StlCrtn, Sydney Brown is a good fit. He has some mad skills too, think he will find he way onto the field sooner than later.

 

There is a good chance the Steelers package something together to move up and get Johnson, that will take at least the 49th and maybe a 7th, I feel if they do this then they have to trade down from 32 so they can get quality depth and maybe some starters.

 

Any of these mockers picking a WR at 17 is just being lazy and have no idea of our priorities.

Have you noticed how Mel's head is all twitchy and shaky? I have sympathy for my elders, but not Mel. It's hard to watch on TV. He needs to get real. My 25 Thoughts.
1. Would not trade up for Paris Johnson @ 9 , so much talent in the second round, and who says he is better than Darnell Wright or Broderick Jones?
2. Deonte Banks, I think he is over inflated due to his combine numbers. Same holds true for DJ turner running a sub 4.3.
3. If I am unhappy with Forbes at 166, why is Witherspoon at 180 not a problem, actually it is, Gonazalez is built thicker like Porter Jr.
4. Watched a bunch of tape on Darnel Washington. Yeah the combine catch..... but what I saw was an OT in motion pancaking people.
5. Georgia ran the ball A LOT. and guess what, TO THE LEFT. Give me some Broderick Jones and Washington in motion.
6. Darnell Wright can play LT, he did it in 2021. His play in 2022 was off the charts.
7. JPJ, got eaten alive by Marvin Harrison Jr. Low production, but maybe teams didn't throw at him.
8. Daniel Jerimiah has Cam Smith, who most of us have around 45 on our board, at 93 and ahead of Darius Rush by 11 spots.
9. Speaking of surprises on DJ's board, I guess I missed Carrington Valentine CB Kentucky. he is rated 7th round on several sites.
10. Mel Kiper's bouffant hairstyle is his trademark, but it's looks like shit with a receding hairline that is now grey and needs to be cut in a bad way.
11. I hope that windbag Berman is not part of the draft panel on ESPN, he was stale in 2001, his schtick went annoying over 20 years ago.
12. Listening to Max Starks on SIrius 88, refreshing. Two OL he likes a lot, while discussing Carter Warren. Blake Freeland BYU and TJ Bass Oregon
13. Dawand Jones will struggle with his weight during his entire career. If I am a GM I put a weight clause in his contract.
14. I am not excited about any of the 1st round grade WR, but second round Jonathon Mingo may end up being the best of the bunch.
15. Boom or bust. Bryan Breese and Kelee Ringo. Ringo was once the top DB in the draft, Breese don't know where he is mentally.
16. Passing on Mazi Smith and Mike Morris. The production is very poor for their snap count and size.
17. Karl Brooks did not test well at his Pro Day, he was sick. I think at 120 he is on the radar. His arm length may be a reach for a 5 technique.
18. I am thinking panic mode, some team takes Hooker in the first to get him on a 5 year deal because year one he is healing up.
19. Hardest thing was to rate Jack Campbell. Kirwin has he mocked in the first, two bad tape games does not equal a 1:25 grade.
20. Steelers like JuJu Brents, cannot coach 6-3-1/2" but he looks a bit stiff, and is not the next Richard Sherman.
21. Jalen Carter, disappeared from games, and the scene of a Vehicular crash involving Death. Some team will gamble hope it's not The Steelers.
22. What is Mike Mayock doing these days. Maybe draft analyst doesn't translate to GM or an NFL Executive. See Kiper, Mel Jr.
23. More on Mayock, on his way out of Vegas, he gave 2 hefty bags worth of Raiders gear to a FIrehouse. Told them to donate it or enjoy it. Stand up guy.
24. If I were on the clock, had to pick a QB, I am going Will Levis. Banged up in 2022, watch his 2021 tape.
25. The Ravens need more than we think, starting with QB. I think roster wise and financially Steelers are in a better spot and have better draft picks.

Bonus thought, other than Brian Branch these safties are rated all over the place, Nobody seems to have a handle on them, not a great class.
