Hadn't really thought about it from a Falcons perspective, but sure, he fits the profile. The irony though is drafting him makes it that much more difficult for both Jared Bernhardt and Frank Darby to make the roster this year, and Darby is a potential deep threat with a little more experience plus proven special teams skills. I'll be putting in a waiver claim for whichever one (or both) of them you end up releasing...
We got London, Hollins and then essentially no one. A few guys can make a case but let's not pretend it's crowded. Also even then there is tons of room for Darby, Bernhardt, even Miller to make it along with a rookie. That only makes 6 WRs.
Rationale: I love 3 guys for Indy. But with a new franchise QB in the fold, when in doubt, either give your new guy a weapon, or protection. Ryan Kelly is 30 now, coming off one of his worst pro seasons. While I still love his chances to give us a couple more quality seasons, it's possible he gets released after the 2023 season. Even if not, a quality backup is never a bad thing. Olu makes line calls, is a smart dude, physical, and blocks for one of the better run games in the NCAA. Love him as a developmental interior guy. For the Rams, I just think that's a defense that runs better with an attitude on the back end. They have a few guys who might prove to be quality #2's, but after the Ramsey trade I don't see that Dawg who wants to line up and smack the NFL's elite WR's in the mouth. Enter Ricks. Not without concerns, but my man is physical as hell in press, played at two of the best DB programs in college, and is battle tested. I watched some of his tape last night for the second time. And I think what I like most about him is the improvement I can see from his early games at LSU, to how disciplined he was last year at Bama. I think if he gets good coaching, this dude might be the alpha we need on the back end. He already carries that swagger. Good value here IMO.

I will be picking as long as I'm not sniped. Seems we have a wait. If I am sniped I'd trade back for those picks plus a future pick. That's my price for that late of 5ths. I have a backup pick though if I gotta pick.

I disagree with the overall assessment and particularly with that assessment of Miller. Unless he gets hurt, Miller easily makes the roster. Pre-draft he's the #3 and main guy in the slot role. Hodge is #4 pre-draft. You might not care for him purely as a WR, but he's a core special teams player and a great blocker in the run game as well as a competent receiver when needed. He's likely to stick for those reasons. You just took Perry. So now you have five guys that are all going into minicamp clearly ahead of Darby and Bernhardt, on a team that also likes to keep four TEs if possible and where two of the RBs double as receivers. So no... there isn't going to be room for everyone.
We wait for this pick (it's at most 30 minutes from now anyway and we were otherwise right on schedule), but depending on what happens this afternoon we potentially take measures before the next pick.
