2023 Collaborative Mock Draft

Discussion in 'NFL Draft' started by Torgo, Apr 12, 2023.

  1. Torgo M.V.P. Manager Falcons

For our new members... the GMO was a full-fledged mock offseason. You become the GM with control of all aspects of the roster. You choose whether to use the franchise tag, offer tenders to RFAs, cut players in cap moves (including those post June 1 designations) etc. It has free agency via open auction, and then it had a draft.

And that was entirely separate from this draft.

The other draft item I'm still working on is how to improve the spreadsheet behind the scenes to make it easier for someone to set up a draft and run it once it starts.

Last year I put in a bunch of lookup formulas so that there would be less manual entry. I think that part is close to finished (though I just came up with something else that I think would be cool to add for a future draft). Actually maintaining the spreadsheet once the draft begins is MUCH easier now than it was two years ago. I think Lyman would be pleased with that side of it.

Once this draft is done, I'm also going to tinker with the spreadsheet to see if the setup part can be simplified.

6 more minutes until we get 2 or 3 picks in.

@BowserBroncos if you're here I'll let you handle your own business. So I'll post the Niners pick soon unless @Silver&black pops in beforehand

Landing a BIG back to that RB room with uncertainty around when Javonte Williams will be good to go.

Denver's next pick is 118 and it is open for a trade down, if anyone is looking to go up, let me know.

    I love the reasoning.

I have no idea if he (or if any of these prospects, for that matter) will be any good in the NFL, but the strategy of taking that position with those specific attributes at this point of the draft clicks for me.

Ok Cool moving forward. I am sure Wes is a good dude, first time and all. Us seasoned vets, even though I missed a few years due to medical and other life events, we knock this out of the park. Sadly there were a handful of Assholes that chased a lot of good people away, happened to me, another reason I took a break. I put maybe 50 hours into this draft, not much, but better than the average fan. I just enjoy the guessing and the banter and the jokes. LIfe is too short to take this seriously to the point where you become consumed. After the draft I got some warm weather hobbies than involve bait, gunpowder, fire and meat.

One of the priorities of this draft was to really try and nail down the 3 tech position. Really would've liked Pickens at #103. He and Tupulotu were plans A and B there, both going just a few picks before me hurt. And with it all taking place while I was sleeping any chance of a trade up wasn't really there.

Carter was very much plan C for me, tho under the circumstances I'm pretty happy with the pick.

I for one am glad Torgo ran this, taught me something. I should have taken Tuli at 80, came in for a visit, and Steelers need depth at Edge. RT you ran it well too I remember, this is our 11th year posting here on this site. I had 5-6 years at CBS then one day they just shut down their boards and a lot of us came over here. My page 2 sheet is wiped out mostly now, players rated 44-89 that is how Microsoft Word prints it out. I always wanted one of those dry erase boards, you know a big Fucker, to move around tiles and make notes. I have the room, just not the energy. Cancer sucks.

Personally I really believe Tuli ends up as an Edge. He weighed 266 at the combine. And produced well. I'm sure on 3rd downs he can rush from inside if someone really wanted. But I don't really see a 3T honestly.

Rankings have been all over the place with him, as far as where he belongs. Gets confusing early on with guys like him, Nick Herbig, Drew Sanders. Gotta really feel out each situation yourself.

There is a few really good prospects at DL that are still available, but I took Breese so they are off my radar.
