Time for @LAOJoe to pick on behalf of his Other Brother Daryl, and then @Silver&black gets to make the first 49ers pick of this draft.
Probably should. IMO he is a Guard. Probably can cover outside in a pinch. But like Skoronski, just think the upside is safer on the interior
I think he can play either but the coaches can figure it out. I just like him and needed more linemen.
I'm not sure what the real team will do on Thursday, but the more I look at the roster, the more that LG jumps out at me as a likely target. Interior DT hits me as the other one if Fontenot goes based purely on need. I disagree with the media talking heads about edge being the top need, because the edge guys did generate a good bit of pressure last year. But it's hard to rack up a lot of actual sacks when the CBs are all hurt and the interior line is Grady Jarrett And The Pips. So the sack numbers are low, and all the pundits say Atlanta has to take edge rushers.
You needed a starter at left guard. Otherwise the best you have is Matt Hennessy, who was one of the 10 worst pass blockers in the league in 2021 and lost the starting center job for 2022.
@Silver&black - just checking... are you here? The last pick before you is coming up soon, so you're about to be on...
