System fit matters. Some teams probably have this guy much lower but for the Giants... I had him and Trent Simpson back to back on my board.

I don't usually draft this way but since I was late to the game I didn't do as much scouting as usual. So I am strait up using a Giants specific draft board from a guy I trust to have actually done the work. Because I have an actual board with numerical ranks this year it has been really interesting to see names coming off. Currently the highest remaining player on my board is #46 and the lowest guy taken was #117.

 

There's a lot to be said for trading for experienced players that fit your needs. I think it's an underrated component of roster building.

 

Even the major draft sites though, I find over the last 3-5 years there has been a bigger and bigger disparity in rankings. We've talked about this before. Because I'm not the only one to notice. Just compare PFF and TheDraftNetwork, or Drafttek. There's guys at certain positions over 100 spots apart. It's wild.

He was the clear top WR that I had for Tennessee. But the Titans already have slot guys and need a big WR or two, so it wasn't really a fit.

Sometimes the late rounds get funny in that we'll have like ten picks in a row coming from lists or from teams that RT and LAOJoe are running. So you get to that point and instantly jump ahead ten picks.
