Titans started with six picks. Added Will Levis, BJ Ojulari. Acquired Saquon Barkley and two other players. Still have six picks, including 2 of the next 40 picks.
lol It's more along the lines of this thinking... Seattle was in the bottom half of the league in rushing attempts last season (25 per game). If they're going to maximize what Geno can do throughout his deal, and set the table for Hendon Hooker in the future, then keeping the defense nasty up front and improving the number and quality of rushes per game would be an ideal recipe for success, IMO. I went back-to-back on the defensive front 7 to start things out, then ended up taking Hooker, followed by Charbonnet. I considered taking Bijan with that second first round pick (wrong orange jersey, @LAOJoe ), but with Walker already on the roster, it made more sense to go after another dog for the defense. If I hadn't have been traveling for work at the time of the Hooker pick, I would have first attempted to move back less than 10 spots, acquire an additional mid pick, and then take Hooker. Charbonnet was pretty much already penciled into that spot I took him in, unless Gibbs were still available at a spot where I could have bounced back up the board after taking Hendon.
I think what you did makes good sense. Had you not taken Hooker, he was my #1 target for Minnesota had he fallen further, but i didnt feel at the time i had enough capital to trade up into a high 2nd rounder, so I was forced to go to plan B and get someone along side KJ and JJ in the receiver room.
Im still thinking/guessing/hunching 5 QB's go in round 1 next Thursday and I wouldnt be surprised if Hooker went before Levis. In my crazy mind, Id love to see the Vikings trade up to get him to sit behind Cousins for a year regardless of the fact he's 25 yo and recovering from torn ACL.
I've sent the heads up to @BowserBroncos , @xinik and @Wes that they'll be up again soon. I think everyone else has sort of been hanging around, but if I missed anyone please give them the heads up or let me know and I will.
I don't think it's a reach at all he was a target for me with my last pick. I just had Ringo ranked higher.
Very true... and i might add, IF the Vikings can get Richardson in a trade up, Id prefer him over Hooker, but either or works for me.
Reminder... the spreadsheet on page 1 has tabs. You can click on the little blue "Round 2" and "Round 1" to see all the players taken in those rounds. Also, if you're on a computer rather than a phone, you can use Control-F to search for player names to see if they've been taken. And the super-secret method: there's a big list of prospects on the tab called "Sheet 19" at the far right side of the spreadsheet. They're sorted alphabetically by name (starting with FIRST name). That's what I have been using to fill in the picks. When a player is selected, I cut the name from that list and paste it into the spot for that pick. So if you are on a computer (or if you are patient enough to scroll on a phone), you can scroll down the list and look to see if your target player is there. If the name isn't there, then either (a) he's taken, (b) there's an issue with the name such as a nickname involved, or (c) you stumped the truck.
@LAOJoe is OTC if he doesn't snipe Denver, we can use @BowserBroncos already posted selection once that's sorted out, @xinik @RTTRUTH @Wes and then me with picks for both NO and TEN
