Not many bullets left on the Saints short list, but that pick is locked and loaded as well. I'm really struggling to get inside Mickey Loomis' head. I respect what he has done as a GM, but I disagree with much of his approach - and half the time I don't see the "big picture" in his individual moves. Even worse, the Saints needs are all over the place to the point that SoCalSaint and I were big time struggling just to figure out basic strategy, never mind building a draft board. So I'm struggling with New Orleans. If I get double-sniped I might be in real trouble.
Damn straight. I would have had to get someone else to take one of the teams otherwise, because I would have been stuck in a conflict of interest position where I was trying to get QBs for Vancouver Volcanos with the Titans AND for SoCalSaint with New Orleans. I'm having a much easier time with Tennessee. They have a new, first-time GM, but I know his background. He was a long time pro scout, and Les Snead was his mentor. He was Snead's right hand man when the Rams traded down from #2 and was still there when Snead started putting more emphasis on experienced players to reload the roster.
More importantly, they signed Carr rather than trading for him. And I still think his announcing that he would refuse a trade was sort of a one-fingered salute to the Raiders "organization" on his way out the door.
