So it has been a lack of effort as opposed to a lack of talent? Any chance there have also been "system fit" or other unrelated issues? (I don't know jack about teams not located in Flowery Branch, so I lean on you as the resident Bengals expert.)

I am not saying his performance has been lack of effort, i am saying that he can't afford to sit out or tank, if the Bengals can't find someone to eat his salary in a trade. He has to be better to request a trade and expect a team will call with an offer then Bengals will listen too. It could be system related, I am not taking that out of the equation, but the numbers he has put up the last two seasons on the OL have been the worst of a struggling line with health issues. So to be the worst and your first string while second stringers out perform you, means you are overpaid or not fitting into the system or both and teams don't want to eat that much cap to find out.

Exactly he has a much higher ceiling. And there is not a lot of wear on Washington's tires. Eventually he might even become a LT. Steelers did that with Larry Brown in the 70's. yeah I'm that old to remember him playing. I mean how many routes did Todd Monkin expect him to run with Brock Bowers catching passes. Georgia is a pound you in the mouth team. I think the Steelers are higher on Washington than most think, they are laying low. They would not have brought him in for an official visit without genuine interest. Washington makes your average OT better by lining up next to him. And if we had a OC with half a brain, we could run 12 personnel and smash people in the face, and throw darts over the middle. Just a pipe dream.

I think there were 2 OT's with late first round grades at 28, I had them crossed off because I got my OT3. Sorry folks Skoronski is a guard but probably the best technician in the group.

When you look at the Bengals success with first round OL, it screams run away. Maybe it is the pick itself, maybe it is a system thing, either way, the Bengals have found mid draft OLs to be more successful in their system, so I would hope the Bengals look at their successes in mid-draft OLs and stay away from guys that have turned into Williams or Ogbuehi or Price. Kevin Zeitler was their last somewhat successful 1st round OL. That was 11 years ago.

We speak the same language Brother. In fact people will laugh, but he was near the next highest rated player on my board after Wright. I could be wrong about Banks but OT has a premium grade, and I got Wright on a 5 year deal.

Going to find my picture. Don’t want to hold us up any more.

I’m also the Rams on deck. Guess I’ll commit to both picks first.

The Bengals would love to find someone to eat 12 million. They can then front load a long term contract for Burrow this season, in a front load restructuring, he get a ton of bonuses this season, and pay him while having him for 5 more years locked up.

    Trade:

Falcons get #228. Titans get OL Jalen Mayfield.

From a Tennessee perspective: Mayfield has been a complete bust for Atlanta but might salvage his career moving to the swing tackle role for a different team. It's worth a seventh rounder to find out.

And having him in hand gives me a little more flexibility to trade down from #41, so I made the offer now rather than waiting until later to settle my OL prospect situation.

He really fell off. He was a projected 1st rounder at the start of his final college season.

The same way I look at the (lack of )success by Pittsburgh drafting CB's in round one. Haven't drafted anyone that worked out since Chad Scott in 1997

    The Indianapolis Colts select:

Emmanuel Forbes - CB - Mississippi St

That’s your NCAA pick-6 leader. Also near the top of the pack for most interviews pre-draft.

How is a matchstick going to tackle Nick Chubb twice a year ? Steelers ask their CB's to be willing and wrap up tacklers, Witherspoon was the perfect fit.
