Just for the sake of conversation, I was going over the Rams roster player by player last night prepping for this and something occurred to me. All their vet-chasing has caught up to them. It will make them both very easy and very difficult to handle in this draft. I can almost literally go BPA because they need everything. Even where they have an established starter they have zero depth behind him. They have a few guys penciled in to start who are no-name street free agents. And half of their remaining drafted players don’t appear to be panning out. It’s not pretty
Don't expect a pick tonight. We're ahead of schedule. Eagles will consider a trade down. I'm probably going to head off soon.
In a sense, that's the situation I have with both teams. I'm working with VV and SCS to figure out team needs/wants, and the answer in both cases is a little of everything. Easy for me since I'm basically a BPA guy anyway, but not so easy for collaborating with other people to plan a draft board.
I saw something from a reporter saying they may set the record for most UDFA after the draft just because they need that many people. Makes a ton of sense. If you want to make a roster, try the Rams.
I have 11 picks with them, but…most of them are later than pick 160 2.5 3.6 3.14 5.32 5.36 5.42 6.5 6.12 6.14 7.6 7.17
Good picking everyone, seems we're ahead of schedule. Just catching up on this, @Campbell can i ask what was the primary motivation for that trade up, was it just to control the OT part of the draft or did you have Johnson significantly higher than Skoronski/Jones/Wright etc? Or perhaps you felt there was a chance by #13 you could be on the 3rd OT so if your gonna move up may as well do it for the top guy? Also, i dunno what the value chart says about that trade(doesnt seem unreasonable from a value perspective) but still a 2nd rounder is a 2nd rounder and in this draft thats some prime real estate to give up. Also, did you factor in the Erin debacle? I'd be shocked if one of those 2nd rounders doesnt go to GB as part of that trade. Playing this hypothetical situation out it would mean the Jets now have no 2nd round pick. The Johnson pick comes with an increasingly steep price tag the more you think about it imo. Just my two cents, the thought exercise part of these things is one of the parts i enjoy. Yes, for my part im pretty much 50/50 on Johnson & Skoronski. I like Skoronski, i think the obsession with his arm length is laughable frankly. The guy can play and is extremely high floor imo. Johnson tho seems like a great prospect, a chance to be elite. And knowing Poles obsession with length im certain if it came down to these two and he was going OT at #9, Poles would take Paris Johnson. But for me in practical terms the damage from getting jumped was minimal and id be pretty thrilled if it played out like this. Which i dont expect it to *coughJalenCartercough*
I know right but when your job requires you to drive a box truck and be in and out of it for 8 to 12 hours each weekday, can't be falling asleep at that wheel.
