Steelers Draft and Mel Kiper sucks thread!!

Is Jack Campbell a first round talent? Pat Kirwin has him going to Washington, PFF has him going to Philly. As Beach mentioned the Iowa State tape is ugly, and another game, which I have not seen the highlights from. But overall a solid prospect with Height Weight Speed. (HWS). I am hoping that Drew Sanders is available at 49 or Trenton Simpson, my gut tells me with all of the high brass going to the Clemson Pro Day that they like a lot of Clemson players. My favorite all time Clemson player and it's not even close, Levon Kirkland. NOBODY ran up the middle when #99 was on the field. Watching some old highlights, he also could drop into coverage and blow up the QB. Very underrated player. Is there a Kirkland in this draft, oh hell no, he was one of a kind.Speaking of those games I watched, a player I had forgotten about, RIchard Shelton, a CB out of Liberty that Noll picked up off the waiver wire. Shelton is most famous for one game, Chuck Noll's last game vs. Belichick. Shelton had 3 picks and was the player of the game. The reason I mention this is that he was on their radar in the draft but the Bronco's took him. In 1990 The Steelers first round pick was Eric Green, both players came from LIberty. Noll, Nunn, and that machine happened to like small school players and rated them on talent not just talent plus level of competition. Joe Greene, North Texas State, Mel Blount Southern, John Stallworth Alabama A&T etc.. they had a good mix of top schools and small schools. It seems like the small school players get pushed back into the middle and later rounds on Steelers boards as of recent.

Why do all the draftnics think we have to take oline to be a better team? We have to secure our defense. Defense wins championships especially for the Steelers. Yes we had good QBs, but we wouldn’t have been in any of our 8 SBs without one of the best defenses in the league. We need CBs and a good weapon for Pickett, Darnell Washington. Trust me if we improve our defense and get Washington we will be in great shape for a possible SB run for the 2023 season.

 

Can't see a scenario where the Steelers pass on Gonzalez - not that I think he'll be available.

I think Mel Kiper loads up stupidity in a syringe and shoots it in his brain. He has us picking WR in rd one, He needs to start selling this stuff, it might become more popular than opioids and crack combined.

 

Yeah here is the biggest WTF of that Kiper mock. Steelers take Zay Flowers and pass on Paris Johnson Jr. This guy is more than whack on crack, he's fully delusional from eating a bowl full of magic mushrooms sprinkled with pink micro dots

 

I am a huge fan of Darnell Washington. I also think they can get a good CB at 49 and an OT at 17. The idea is to upgrade the team, and Broderick Jones will become an upgrade over both starting Tackles IMHO.

 

I think his blocking ability is incredible. Plus he’s fast and a coverage nightmare for defenses.

 

You can probably take Jones off the Steelers Radar if this story has any validity to it. The mention of Tony Pauline makes it lean towards more credible than not.

Don’t forget my 33 is really like 48 I’ve eliminated players based on character and positions they won’t be drafting early.

 

Just read 50 profiles and my head is spinning. Some guys will be UDFA some are 5th & 6 th rounders but you have to do your homework.

I just read that The Steelers are considering trading up for Jalen Carter. I hope not. I love Carter but I’m opposed to trading away prime picks for him.
