Dont look now, but the Falcons actually snagged a receiver yesterday I believe...

The Falcons have agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million deal with receiver Mack Hollins, according to multiple reports.

Hollins, 29, joins Drake London, Olamide Zaccheaus and Damiere Byrd in the receivers room in Atlanta, likely as the No. 2.

He had a career-best 57 catches for 690 yards for the Raiders in 2022.

The Eagles made him a fourth-round pick in 2017, and Hollins played 28 games with two starts over three seasons in Philadelphia.

He joined the Dolphins late in the 2019 season and appeared in 37 games with five starts in Miami before joining the Raiders a year ago.

In six seasons, Hollins has 113 receptions for 1,440 yards and 10 touchdowns.

 

Well on paper they look damn tough the injury bug can just destroy your team division games are always a war just have to wait and see how this plays out,there going to have to dethrone the Minnesota Vikings as Division Champs which will be no easy thing to do i don't care how many players they sign GO VIKINGS Purple and Gold Forever

Mike Ford set to sign with the Browns



The Browns are set to add cornerback and special teamer Mike Ford to their roster.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Browns have agreed to sign Ford to a one-year deal worth up to $2.25 million.

 

Raiders signing former Texans tight end O.J. Howard

The Las Vegas Raiders added much-needed aid to their tight ends room.

O.J. Howard signed with the Raiders following a visit on Monday, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source informed of the deal. The team later announced the signing.

The former first-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers spent 2022 with the Houston Texans, catching 10 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns.

The former Alabama product entered the NFL with enticing athleticism but never quite put it all together in Tampa Bay. He reached a career-high 565 yards on 34 catches in 10 games in his second season. He suffered an Achilles injury in 2020 after just four weeks. In five years with the Bucs, he generated 119 catches for 1,737 yards and 15 touchdowns.

The Raiders were in the market for TE help after trading Darren Waller to the New York Giants last week. Foster Moreau continues to be a free agent and has reportedly been meeting with other teams.

Howard joins a tight ends room in Vegas with Jesper Horsted and Cole Fotheringham. Howard adds a veteran presence, but it's still a position the Raiders could look to a deep draft class to shore up.

The Baltimore Ravens hosted free-agent wide receiver Nelson Agholor on a visit. Baltimore's search for more receiving help continues. As things currently stand, Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay and James Proche II are their top three wideouts, so the Ravens will certainly add to the position via free agency and/or the upcoming draft in April. Agholor, the former first-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015, spent the last two years with the New England Patriots, where he caught 68 of his 117 targets for 835 yards and five touchdowns in 31 games (20 starts). The 29-year-old had only 31 receptions for 362 yards and two scores in 16 games (seven starts) in 2022.

Austin Ekeler: I am so underpaid right now, I’m relentlessly pursuing a long-term contract



The Chargers have given running back Austin Ekeler permission to seek a trade, and he’s making no secret that he wants some team to pay him what he thinks he’s worth.

Ekeler said on Chris Long’s Greenlight podcast that he has nothing against anyone with the Chargers, but he wouldn’t want to stay there unless he’s going to get paid what he thinks he’s worth, and he’s not going to top seeking the contract he wants.

“I’m so underpaid right now as far as my contract and what I contribute to the team, I am relentlessly pursuing this,” Ekeler said. “I want to get something long-term done. I want a team that wants me long-term. I’m at the peak of my game, I’m going to score you another 20 touchdowns. As long as I’m healthy I’m going to score 20 touchdowns, I’m going to have 1,600 all-purpose yards. I’m getting half my value of what I can be getting. So I am relentlessly pursuing someone who wants me.”

So far, Ekeler has been the one doing the pursuing, and no team has been identified as eager to both give Ekeler the contract he wants and give the Chargers the trade compensation they want. Ekeler has one more year on his current contract and acknowledged that he’s obligated to play for the Chargers if nothing gets done, but he wants to get something done soon.

Elandon Roberts Waited Seven Years for Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers newest linebacker had a conversation with Mike Tomlin nearly a decade ago that he waited all this time to live out.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers new inside linebacker Elandon Roberts met head coach Mike Tomlin seven years ago at his Pro Day at Houston. From that moment on, he knew he wanted the opportunity to play for the black and gold, but never did he think it'd take more than half his career to get here.

Speaking with local media for the first time, Roberts said he's also admired the Steelers and Tomlin from what he's seen and heard around the league.

"I met Mike Tomlin a long time ago at my Pro Day," Roberts said. "And I’ve always said to myself, my wife, if I had the opportunity, it’ll be hard to pull me away from that one. …I joked with Coach Mike and (GM and assistant GM Omar Khan and Andy Weidl) talking about it took seven years, but God’s timing is right on."

It did take nearly a decade, but Roberts is now in Pittsburgh. He comes to the Steelers on a two-year deal after starting 43 games for the Miami Dolphins the last three years. And coming off his best year as a pro, recording 107 tackles, 4.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss, Roberts is part of a new regime at inside linebacker for the Steelers - joined by free agent signing Cole Holcomb and new coach Aaron Curry.

"Coming to this organization, that foundation has already been made. It’s my job to earn the trust of my coaches, my teammates, everyone in the building," Roberts said.

Roberts said he had a few options in free agency, but as soon as the Steelers called his mind was made up.

"I can tell you when Pittsburgh came in the fold, it jumped," Roberts said. "It was kind of like, ‘get it done, let’s push to really get this done to Pittsburgh.’ That was my whole mindset once I found out that Pittsburgh was in the fold."

Now, seven years later, Roberts is set to play for Mike Tomlin and the Steelers. It's an opportunity for him to play in a defense he believes fits him perfectly, and finally live out the dream of playing for a coach he had his sights on since becoming a pro.

"I've always admired Coach Mike and how he goes about things," Roberts said. "Like I said, I told him at my Pro Day seven years ago, 'Come get me.' And as soon as we talked, the first time we talked, I said, 'It took seven years, huh.' But God's got his time for everything, and I'm just ecstatic to be a part of the organization."

Adams appeared in 10 games with three starts for the Bears last season, recording 26 total tackles with two for loss. He also had a forced fumble.

 

Dallas Cowboys add backfield depth, agree to one-year deal with RB Ronald Jones



The Dallas Cowboys have added depth in their backfield after releasing Ezekiel Elliott last week.

The Cowboys agreed to terms on a one-year deal with running back Ronald Jones, a person familiar with the situation told to USA TODAY Sports. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal has not yet been publicly announced.

Jones is the first move Dallas has made in the backfield since the team decided to cut Elliott — the franchise’s third all-time leading rusher — after seven seasons, .

Jones is coming to Dallas from the defending Super Bowl 57 champion Kansas City Chiefs. The running back appeared in six games for the Chiefs last season. He had 17 carries, 70 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown in limited action. Jones spent his first four NFL seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He tallied 2,174 rushing yards, 18 rushing touchdowns, 76 receptions, 571 receiving yards and one touchdown catch in 55 regular-season games with the Bucs. He was also on Tampa Bay’s Super Bowl 55-winning squad.

The Pittsburgh Steelers re-signed cornerback James Pierre to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday after they didn't tender him as a restricted free agent last week. Pierre will now return for his fourth year in Pittsburgh. After entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2020, the 26-year-old defensive back has recorded 86 tackles (65 solo), two interceptions, eight passes defensed, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 50 games played (six starts). Pierre will continue to provide depth for the Steelers secondary while also contributing on special teams in 2023.

Damien Harris feels signing with Bills can take him to a new height



Running back Damien Harris is switching teams in the AFC East for the 2023 season.

Harris has signed with the Bills after spending four seasons with the Patriots and he’s joining an offense that is bringing back a number of weapons from their third straight division champion. Those weapons include running backs James Cook and Nyheim Hines, but Harris does not sound like he believes those players will keep him from thriving in Buffalo’s offense.

“I always said that playing against the Bills, I felt like brought out the best in me as a competitor and as a player,” Harris said, via the team’s website. “And from the outside looking in as an opponent if I felt that way then I knew that if I was able to join this organization, I feel like I could just take it to a new height.”

After rushing for 929 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2021, Harris dipped behind Rhamondre Stevenson in the New England backfield pecking order last year. It remains to be seen just how he’ll fit into the Bills attack, but it’s clear he feels like he can bounce back to previous heights.
