NFL mock draft 2023: With Jonnu Smith traded, Patriots should get ‘Baby Gronk’

only a Masshole Patriots fan could come up with this shit-fest of a mock draft. Puts 99% of his/her effort into what the Cheatriots will do, and gives teams shit picks. Nice job Skippy, you get the Darwin Award for the day.

 

Dotson had a lot of penalties in 2022 but remained healthy. Trading him for a 5th is probably a good idea, but I think he market value is lower than that. I am not opposed to keeping him on the roster and letting him be a backup in case of injury. When you trade him you lose the Depth that Andy Weidl brought to Philly, big dudes, lots of big dudes. For now I keep him and let's see how things play out, camp is months away, injuries happen. Steelers are better off holding onto him for now. Getting back into that 5th round is a great idea, just don't know exactly how or when they will pull it off.

 

Don’t think they could get a 5th for Dotson…maybe 6th or 7th. Personally would be ok holding onto him as long as he doesn’t become a locker room problem. No way in hell do they get as lucky as they were last year in regards to injuries on the offensive line

 

Dotson having some real competition at G might actually bring out his better play.

YES! Read the article. Karl Brooks is so much a sleeper pick, his production compared to some of these better known DL prospects, it's ridiculous. He stays on the field on all 3 downs, much more value than the 340 lb. NT's that some posters on multipole sites are clamoring for. My next mock will have him at pick 80, unless they slide back, I doubt he is there at 119 and having Dunbar at his pro day was like a big Christmas gift for me and a TOLD YOU SO to my detractors.

 

A rule with good intentions could cost Dotson money. He was originally due 1M in 2023 until he hit the Proven Performance Escalator. Now he's due 2.7M. Not sure if the Steelers will pay it but my guess is they do. They tend to value the message that moves send to the locker room. Cutting a guy because he performed and earned more money would send a bad message to the other 52 guys.

Me too and assuming Freiermuth takes the next step blocking in-line it would really help the Steelers work both sides of the field. Moreso than if you drafted Kincaid who would likely spend a lot of time in the slot - although baby Kelce would still be my choice.

They screwed up the Sutton deal in 2021. They drafted him, developed him and then were afraid to give him a real contract. They went with the void years, instead of just putting a number on them both sides could live with. He'd be locked up through 2025 had they not been afraid to commit.

I'm re-thinking the Jack Campbell choice at 32. Watched the Iowa State game. Wasn't his best effort. Need to see more.

 

I totally agree with that I have Campbell at 53 overall which is like 61 because of all the guys I excluded. 3 RB & 5 QB off the top of my head. JC At 49 maybe depends on what they do @ 17 & 32.

My first mock of the season.



I really like Jack because we’ve been missing that field general in the Middle and I really think he can provide that. The one thing about the mock I regret is not getting a CB maybe in place of Uzomah, but I also would like the 3rd OLB to be a player that doesn’t fall off as much when they come in for a breather or an injury.

 

Some good choices, but I think I oversold you on Karl Brooks, we'll see. IMHO you waited too long to get CB but I like all of the players. How does that grading work, too early for Kuntz, that is why the D grade? One other slight criticism, you still left that gap of 119-232, I think Kahn addresses that on day 3?

DJ's mock just came out. Broderick Jones to the Steelers. Guess who was not taken? Darnell Washington among other guys I have in bold red on my big board. (red being a good color for me and nothing to do with red flags)

 

I put Karl in because Dunbar just went and worked him out and wanted to see where he would fall. That’s exactly why I got the negative grade, but I also went for a valued player at that point. I made the trade to pick up an extra pick in the third or fourth to make up for the lack of picks in the fifth and sixth. If we picked up an extra pick before the gap it won’t be so bad. They don’t give a draft pick value chart when you trade. I might try a different sight and see if it has one.

 

Here is a big board much more detailed than anything I ever put together. Notice how he devalues NT which he should, too limited amount of snaps value for the round taken.

If interest in Mason Rudolf? Id rather have him then draft another Chris Oladukin . Plus rule change coming after the 49ers were down to Jimmy the Towel boy as their backup QB
