I was 7...Ready to see Tark and the Vikes take down the Raiders in the SB. What happened? I can't remember.
Most likely watching that game. I turned 5 the week before this game. That was 47 years ago, so i obviously don’t remember it, but my Dad had the Browns on since I was attached to my mom’s…. Well, you get the picture. So, I’m sure I watched this game with him. That’s why, unlike TD, I don’t mind seeing this nostalgic stuff. It makes me who I am today as a fan, growing up with my dad watching the Browns on Sunday. Though I don’t remember this particular day, I remember HUNDREDS of others.
Think I mentioned this before, but growing up in Toledo I was force fed the Browns and Lions, mainly the Browns. I kinda have an interest in them since i was a kid watching them play all the time. Probably be a straight up Browns fan if it wernt for my purple addiction.
lol! Well let's not get carried away. I love the old school stuff as much as anyone, but c'mon, I think it should be understood why I booed that in jest. That clip was of the Steelers beating the Browns in Pittsburgh. Something they did my entire youth. It tortured my soul.... In fact, the Browns never won a game at Three Rivers Stadium until 1986, the year I turned 18. As I'm sure you remember, it was famously called the "three rivers jinx" which seemed like it would never end....Finally Bernie Kosar's Browns broke it.
Looks like we got our #2WR from the Jets. About all that’s left to do is bundle all of our remaining draft picks together to slightly move up in the 3rd round.
Another under the radar move by Andrew Berry that looks like a good one. Giving up a 2nd rounder but getting NY's 3rd rounder in return, the Browns didn't give up much in acquiring the speedy Elijah Moore, who still has two years remaining on his rookie deal. Moore has been the victim of horrendous QB play over the first two years of his career in New York, but has consistently shown the ability to separate from defenders. He has excellent hands, and along with Amari Cooper, this now gives the Browns two really outstanding route runners. This move fills the biggest hole remaining on Cleveland's roster, and gives Watson a burner that knows how to get open. There's a video of Elijah Moore plays that should have happened but didn't due to failed QB execution on YT that is similar to the one OBJ's dad went public with when he was here in Cleveland not hooking up with Baker. Time and time again, Elijah Moore running perfect routes and getting wide open, and Jets QB's failing to connect...That won't be the case here in Cleveland with Watson. Rock solid move by Cleveland. I'd give it an A.
Adding to what you just stated, the defense was a concern and for a team with limited recourses, I personally think the Browns did well to address some needs on defense as well by signing some decent players that will help right off the get-go, in my opinion. Berry hasnt been bad at all.
By the way - The Browns will pay Moore just $1.5 million in 2023 and $1.9 million in '24. F'n stole him!
And that move definitely means that they are moving on from Schwartz.......finally.........guy couldn't catch a cold........
So now that the Browns have added a couple more WR's (Moore,Goodwin) and moved down to pick #74, is there any player or position that we should target? I've got a few players in mind that I'm hoping will be there, but I don't think Berry is forced to address any particular position.
As a result of the Moore trade, the Browns now have 2 picks in each of the 3rd, 4th and 5th rounds. It wouldn't surprise me if they bundled up some of those picks to move into the 2nd round.
I doubt they will do that, but I'd love to see it. They have the flexibility if there is a target they want....My thought is that at this point is that they might take some of those later round picks and bundle them in hopes of gaining draft capital for 2024. Either way, I think Cleveland has put themselves in excellent position moving forward. At last check 36-1 to win the SB....Not that I recommend it, but If you are gonna do it, do it now. Those odds will likely be cut in half by opening day. Browns are all in.
