I really thought Dremont Jones would get the label. I am totally on board with it being McGlinchey tho. He's no all-pro and he'll get overpaid, but im ok with that cos he'll represent a massive upgrade over what we have.
I went on a crusade against the compensatory picks two or three years ago. It's ridiculous, and the arbitrary nature is just another reason I'm so cynical about the NFL. Hate them - even worse the the league decided they could be traded, basically just handing assets to teams at will. Yeah, Oluwatimi could definitely go earlier. I could legitimately see him being a day one starter, and that's valuable. If Poles gets the other spots shored up, I'd be a big fan of taking this kid to complete the rework for day one of the season. No more Mustipher. Excited to watch more Centers.
Been thinking about this and we should be prepared that this pick could be lower than we hope. The Panthers have a good Defense, and they found an identity as a physical beat you up kind of team behind a power based running game. Given what they just spent for a QB they will prob try to transition away from that one day, but for next season i expect it to remain. Its their best chance of success and will take the pressure off the QB. They'd need to resign Donta Foreman but i think they will. They may win more games than we want, its not like we can write them off winning that weak ass division either.
Dre'mont Jones plus Jawaan Taylor and I might start building the statue of Poles. But I know the checkbook isn't endless and there are a lot of holes to fill. I think McGlinchey might've been helped by a good squad / offense.
I expect Carolina to win at least 3 or 4 division games. That division is bad. Tampa is ready to tank, the Saints aren't going to be saved by Carr, and the Falcons are still rebuilding.
I wonder what this means for Sanborn. Also TJ Edwards for 6.5per or Noquan for 20. Oooooooh thats a tough one lololol
I'm okay with this. The team needs a full rebuild, you can't plug every hole with stars. He comes from a winning team, shows he can move and tackle, and isn't too expensive. I assume that free agency means you'll overpay for someone, but this is still a reasonable contract. Sanborn can play in the middle or the strong side. I expect another move at LB to put another starter next to him.
I think that's where he has spent most of his time. But if Sanborn is still a starter I think you're moving Edwards over as he's the better athlete and much better in coverage.
If we fix OT and C, we may be a playoff team. If Fields is actually a good QB we might go over 10+ wins.
