12-3 Vikings are 3.5-point underdogs at 7-8 Packers



The Vikings have 12 wins this season. Eleven happened by one score. The other one happened back in Week One, when the Vikings beat the Packers, 23-7.

The two teams get together again in Week 17, with the Packers at 7-8. And, via Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com, the Packers are consensus favorites, at 3.5 points.


It’s not a surprise. The Vikings continue to have many detractors, even as they keep winning. And, even though the reputation for having just a hint of fraud is arguably deserved, they probably like it that way.

The Packers will need the win to continue their unlikely playoff push. The Vikings need to keep winning in order to earn the No. 2 seed, and to continue a uphill shot at taking the top seed from the Eagles.

Justin Jefferson on Kirk Cousins: Everyone wants to make jokes; we’re definitely standing behind him



With the changes to the procedures in 2022, there’s a decent chance receiver Justin Jefferson could receive some votes for MVP this season.

There’s a much lower shot of that happening for the person who throws him the ball.


Jefferson may set a new single-season record for receiving yards in the next two games, as he has 1,756 on 123 catches to lead the league. But Jefferson is seen more as an asset to Cousins than the other way around.

This year, Cousins has completed 65.7 percent of his passes for 4.117 yards with 27 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He’s had three multi-interception games, including the wild 39-36 comeback victory over the Colts in Week 15.

But after posting his support of Cousins to Twitter late on Wednesday night, he reiterated the same while talking to reporters on Thursday.

“Everybody wants to make jokes about him. Always want to talk about him. But his numbers are showing differently,” Jefferson said, via Kevin Seifert of ESPN. “I don’t really want to talk too much on it, but he’s doing whatever he needs to do in order for his team to win and we’re definitely standing behind him.”

Cousins does lead the league with eight fourth-quarter comebacks and game-winning drives. But he’ll likely have to do a lot more in the postseason to fully change the national perception of who he is as a quarterback.

Good for Justin Jefferson for standing up and having your QB back,but he's winning and the talking heads have a problem with that go figure

 

Cousins is ok in my book... always been a fan. This team has excelled under his leadership and he has made some really terrific plays this season. Leads the NFL in comeback wins and the NFL's all-time comeback win. He gets the job done, period.

I really believe with all my heart the Vikings will put up a W in Green Bay... and they still wont get any respect. And at this juncture, I dont even care... just go out there, take care of business and the rest falls into place.

 

By the way... Kirk Cousins has tied the all-time NFL record for comeback wins.

This hasnt been his best season, but he is getting the job done and has utilized Jefferson nicely.

 

Me also I don't give a damn really sick and tired of the Green Bay love fest,it's just amazing to me how they never talk about how weird Aaron Rodgers is and his girlfriend and her weird ass name he is one strange dude!

 

Also Capt Kirk is one Tough Dude the difference is amazing from under Mike Zimmer and KOC how Mike Zimmer never brought this out of him when it was there all the time

 

It just mind blowing to me how they just won't shut the hell up about the Vikings being fraudulent and how they keep talking about the Capt Kirk of the past not how's he playing now Packers Packers Packers I think I'm going to sick be nice if they won the SB and would the talking heads and stupid ass podcasts shut the fu*k up but seriously i doubt it they would find something fraudulent about that also laughing

The Vikings ranked 19th in strength of schedule on Pro Football Network and 20th on NFL.com's. Not the toughest, but not the easiest either.
