Guys we can't complain about Fields not having faith in the system/his teammates and letting it go.... and then also complain when he does and something bad happens.

If you wanna pick one or the other and bitch about that then have at it, but the one thing none of us knowledgeable fans should be doing is bitching about both.

Disagree. I think a big thing Fields picked up from Simien last week is giving his guy a chance to make a play on a 50/50 ball. We didn’t complain last week when Claypool took it away from Sauce Gardner being the first WR to get more than a 7-8 yard gain against him in man coverage. We liked it and wanted to see more of it. It didn’t work with ESB even though it had earlier in the game.

Jaire Alexander is also a damned good corner who made a play, even though a few times today he was burnt toast.

I'm being told to shut up for something I didn't even say? Fuck you, Ev. Seriously.

The last 2 weeks we've hit a point where Ev and BWW are so dug in to a take that they can't even acknowledge a bad play by Fields when it smacks them in the face. How about a little nuance gentlemen? Fields played a good game until the last 2 drives. Those picks were bad. So in summary: most good, some bad at the worst time. He's not the reason we lost, most of that goes to Getsy/Flus.

BWW often says, it's not that we lost, it's HOW we lose. And this is yet another example.

I hear you ev on the positives Fields had, and sure, the draft position, but I am not there yet. Fuck these cheesedick assholes with Rodgers fucking saluting our fans as they take the record.

What it really is, was that through most of the first half, I thought, "hey, I've seen this story before" but I had a little hope in me, "yeah, but this time our defense sucks and we have Fields! Things can be different". 11 minutes left in the 4th and my buddy says, "they are going to milk the clock to 2 minutes and then kick a FG, then 3 runs and out". Obviously not quite what we got, but not too far off honestly. I should have known better. Midway through the second my buddy says he had money on the Bears but chickened out at the last minute last night and was regretting it. I told him, "there's a lot of game left, believe it when the clock reads 00:00". Lost by fucking NINE.

I am glad you called out the pass rush though. It was embarrassing. Any QB in the league with THAT much time is going to find someone eventually. Did we even get one official "pressure"? We sure as shit didn't come anywhere near sacking him.

If no one has called it out too, fuck our offensive line. The team needs a lot of pieces. Start with the trenches of which both of ours suck.

As usual blang you pick entirely the wrong things to complain about when it comes to Fields which exposes the negative agenda.

There were two things you could clearly blame Fields for, think both happened in the 1st half.

Bears have the ball somewhere around Packer 20-25, Fields danced around in the pocket a bit before trying to float one to Kmet downfield. The touch wasn't quite right but it wasnt a big window. But that wasn't the problem, in behind Kmet, Harry had broken free on a deep crosser inside the 10, if Fields lets it go to him there's a v good chance of a TD on a drive that i blelieve ended in a FG.

On another drive, and i only saw this on the replay when they were talking about something else, Fields was scrambling around back there and eventually tucked it(possibly that 3rd down scramble that came up just short) but Claypool had run a straight go into the endzone and cos the Packers played zone the CB didn't go with him. Now the S #20 was there so you're talking about a 1 on 1 jumpball in the corner.....i have no problem with that. Claypool is here to outjump DB's in the endzone that he has 6inches on, so just let it go Justin.

So there's 2 in case i want saying enough negative things about the QB.

BTW blang haven't you been very vocal about deep ball accuracy this season? The misses are always on Fields even when they don't get a blatant call right? Maybe you'd like to take a moment away from bitching to acknowledge two great deep shots that landed today. The one to ESB in particular was legit perfect, he couldn't have walked 50yard downfield and handed it to him any better.

I mean you were just about to post that right? I got in there before you hand a chance to hit send again haven't I.....

If St Brown gets out of his break when he’s supposed to….that’s not a 50/50 ball. It’s just a catch.

  9. EvertonBears M.V.P. Bears

At the risk of being too optimistic for the room again.... did you see those first half plays where the blocking held up and Fields had time to get through multiple progressions before delivering a strike for 15+ yards? The first thing i was thinking at those was this is what we could see a lot next season if they get him real consistent pass blocking.

Fields does more to win games that he contributes to why we lose.

When that ceases to be true I’ll pick on him more.

Right now he’s the best player on the team and the only reason we score points.

This is an awful break on a route for an NFL receiver

Also, and this isn't a for or against, its an objective observation i think we should all be aware of.... having taken a 9 point lead with 1minute left in the 3rd Q, the Bears called ZERO designed QB runs from that moment onwards.

So i'd like someone to explain what we're unhappy about re this. Cos i've seen a lot about Fields getting called too many runs, which at the end of the Falcons game was true, but then today they just went scoreless in the 4th Q again in a game they were trying to close out, again.

At the risk of stating the blatantly fucking obvious, Fields has many talents, and this Offense runs thru all of them, for good or bad. We may need to learn to accept both to avoid sounding hypocritical and i include myself in that too.

True, but on the whole they didn't play a great game by any stretch. The Packers were rushing 4 most of the game, so those 5 assholes *should* win those battles. Unless my drunk ass is misremembering, which is always possible.

Re: Fields designed runs, is it possible they were "protecting" his shoulder? They stayed away from his designed runs and there were times it maybe would have made a difference? I think the injury does factor in. Plus Fields had said his legs were heavy in previous weeks, maybe trying to keep him fresh.

    Couple other thoughts:
    1. The Packers read those WR screens like they had the play called to them. On one the DB breaks to the WR *before the ball is even fucking snapped*. Guess he watched the tape.
    2. The wildcat can get fucked. What in the hell is the sense of putting our dual threat RB *out wide*. Seriously.
    3. The cutesy gadget play. Don't know what the fuck happened there.

I have a lot of issues with this loss, between the coaches, players, and GM.

That route by St Brown is criminal. I was waiting to comment until I could watch a real replay of it, because I felt like Fields might've been slow on the release there. But seeing it again in the posted clip, what the hell do you expect to happen there? St Brown gave that ball to the DB. Just sat still. Is Fields blameless? I don't know yet. But the WR sure as hell isn't.

The other thing is, why in the fuck did we trade away a pick that's gonna be at the top of the second round (which we all knew it would be) for a guy that can't be the leading receiver on this team? It's been, what, four weeks? And you can't be more of a factor than Equa-standstill St Brown? Look, I thought the Claypool trade was robbery, but I at least expected him to be better than the rest of these fucks.

Getsy needs to stop being Matt Nagy when it matters. Eberflus needs to start being a head coach when it matters.

On a related note, I know we all want a LT at the top of the draft (myself included), but I am gonna go ahead and say they're drafting defense. Defensive head coach, a defensive line that might as well not even be out there, a 5th round pick LT they'll convince themselves is good enough, and some top DL talent available to draft... Performances like that tell me they're already working on a short list of D linemen to take. And I honestly can't blame them.

Losing to the fucking Packers never feels good, and I sure as fuck hope that it stops. You've got a QB. The excuses are over. Get the rest done right, and now.

This is really important, and a nuance that gets lost in the course of the season. He can't be Superman for 17 games. He touches the ball every single play - adding the running workouts to his plate means that he's going to wear out. You've gotta plan out how to pace it over the year. Give him more help in the form of personnel around him, but also in the form of playcalling, weekly planning, and dare I say it - maybe a week off. We've gotta be realistic that he's gonna wear down, and you need him at his best come playoff time.

This team needs more talent so that it can ask Fields to do less all the time, and more when it counts the most.

Oh totally agree, they're bad. But just on a few plays there where they did hold up and do their jobs it gives you a flash of what it could be like. Fields saw well and threw well from the pocket yesterday. That might've been the best he threw from the pocket this season. One of em at least imo.

Please take note of the timestamp on this one dline, cos when it pans out just like this you'll have an open goal told you so.

Its awful from St Brown for sure, but to me this goes as much if not more on Getsy. A WR like him shouldn't be the primary on a timing comeback route like that. Its not his skillset, such as it is.

Actually imo that is Darnell Mooney's play. Imagine for second Mooney on that instead of St Brown. 1- The speed must be respected so i seriously doubt the route gets jumped in the first place, 2- He presses the top of the route way better and 3 he comes out of that break miles sharper. St Brown hits the anchors at the 29yard line on that route and doesn't make his final plant to push back towards the ball until inside the 25. Did you see how many steps he took i havent seen feet going like that since Michael Flatley in Riverdance! Brown never gets higher than the 27 when the ball arrives and fuckface INT's it at the 28. Mooney doesn't just contest/break up that pass, he probably makes the catch for a FD.

But Mooney isn't out there, so why call a play for him when he isn't? Its not just "plug in a WR". Does Getsy know any of this? Because that sequence really suggests to me that he doesn't.

They were great throws. I said he played a very good game up until the end. And it just goes to show that this game is totally on Getsy considering how well Fields was chucking it downfield and then he calls the run plays in the redzone on third down and long.
