Week 12 overreactions, reality checks: Lamar Jackson part of Ravens' late-game issues? Washington in playoffs? - CBS seems to think Wilson is toast.

I don't know, I think benching was the right move, but giving up on him entirely doesn't seem like the right move. It would be like the Patriots sticking with Zappe. White can't be the answer for the Jets, right?

A useful time killer on the train home from work it may be, but its called overreactions for a reason heh. This guy saying its now White's job for the season will also be the first fucker calling for him to be benched soon as the book closes on his first bad game.

The benching was totally the right move, how long it lasts depends on how long White can keep playing well. Not long is my guess unless he's had some incredible leap forward in his game no one knew about. Cos make no mistake, that benching was all about sending a message to Zach Wilson and zero about them actually thinking secret weapon Mike White was now ready to light up the league. My comment about Wilson getting the message was entirely about him realising he needs to grow the F up a bit and nothing to do with him suddenly deciding to play better.

That said, I def don't believe Salah has given up on Wilson entirely. Did you see the presser when he announced the QB change? Salah went way out of his way to explain this was about giving Wilson a reset and a chance to take a look at himself. He may even have directly said its not about if Zach plays again this season, its when. I think he said that. So the HC isn't over him imo. The locker room? That might be different.

In the game thread i mentioned Brady/Bledsoe at the Patriots, thats the only way this sticks imo. White would have to take the job and run with it from one side of the country to the other and with barely a stumble. Unlikely.

Also in the game thread blang mentioned Josh Rosen. Good shout, but 1 very obvious big difference there. The Cardinals landed straight into the #1 overall pick the very next offseason. Getting off Rosen in that situation really wasn't that hard, in fact keeping him would've been arguably harder. The Jets are in a much different situation, they're a country mile away from even the top 12-14picks, let alone top5, let alone top pick! White being the next Brady or Wilson doing something incredibly stupid off the field or in the locker/at practise is the only way it happens.

I don't see Wilson making personally, never felt he was worthy of the draft slot either, but he'll get another shot imo.

Marcos Mariota and Jameis Winston are still getting shots, Wilson will definitely get another chance. Hell Trubisky got another chance after the Bears.
