Bears Oline has been allowing free rushers like that all season difference there is Siemian can’t do what Fields can
Zach Wilson is standing on that sideline right now thinking why oh why didn't i say something humble. Could've been me playing the Bears. I'm gonna say he gets the message.
Borom disappoints me. You've got every opportunity to take a starting OL job. Win the job. This game is the Mike White Revival Tour. Making him look like an all star.
This is one of those "confidence booster" games that pundits like to talk about. Except, for Wilson, it's the opposite.
Pass was clearly overthrown, Claypool had no chance at that. Simien is indeed an extremely limited passer.
I think this is important. This team is, very simply, talent deficient. It takes time to fix that. We can debate on whether or not Poles has made the right moves to fix it, but fact is that this team is more than a couple players away. The whole roster - and the coaching they've been getting - needs to be overhauled. Are there a couple bright spots? Sure. But this team needs to be planning for several years down the road. I will be upset if Poles pulls a Pace next year and spends big to try and win in the short term.
When Pace did that, we all thought, "we're more than just a Khalil Mack away" and turns out, we were right. I don't think Poles is that dumb, but the Claypool trade still doesn't look great, especially now that our second round pick is going to be close to a late 1st. Apparently my son's team did not qualify for the quarter finals (which is bs, they lost their first game to a team which is 7-0 in the regular season this far, and then they won the next 3), but they DID win their game this morning to make a 4th win in a row to take 9th place out of 30, so that's something. Plus they play 4v4 and they only had 6 players to everyone else's 8-9, so they were only able to change out half the line at a time and put in some serious minutes. Super entertaining games though back and forth from a tie to ahead, late game heroics, it was amazing. Then I get home in time to watch the second quarter of the Bears game and watched something far less entertaining. I passed the fuck out at half time and realize I missed, 0 points from the Bears and 17 more for the Jets in the second half? Thank god I was asleep. Then I read the recap and we lost how many players out to injury? I saw Ejax go down but a bunch of others too? The Lions/Falcons/Jets were the EASY part of the schedule. This team might legitimately not win another game. The Bills or Eagles might break the single season scoring record against us. The odds of the Peckers actually losing to us next week is almost nil. The Vikings resting starters the final week maybe? If the season ended right now, we are SECOND in the draft. Let that sink in. I'm hoping we get to see more from Justin, but only if he's healthy. Growth from Kmet/Claypool/Mooney. If there are any pieces at all we can keep on defense. That's about it.
