Our offense and defense finally both played as a team.

    the run game was good
    No turnovers
    Defense got some turnovers

Watt helped make the defense a true defense.

So are the Texans but does beating them really mean anything. Bottom line like several Steelers fans have said they will screw around enough to not get a top 5 draft pick and then roll into next season with false hope.

Good: Defense was closer to what they could be. It wasn’t just Watt, Kaisee adds depth and speed. Pickens Continues to
Impress. Over-rated Dallas lost, Bills lost and Dolphins are in first place.after thumping the Browns.

Bad: 20 Points is still anemic , Saints D isn’t top flight.,

Ugly: O line gave up 5 sacks and too many pressures

I watched the game yesterday and I do agree the O-line needs to be built up as Pickett learns as he plays. Pickett can succeed, given the time to throw.

Isn't this the truth. Same thing with my Browns and the last 20+ years. They sucked and always won too many damn games to get the top QB or position player they really needed. I honestly think you guys are in for a bumpy ride the next few years as you rebuild.....which is odd for the Steelers since they usually just reload. I just hope your front office doesn't start getting antsy and shows Tomlin the exit in the next couple of years, as it isn't his fault that you guys aren't playing up to par for the Steelers.

Not to play devils advocate but what draft pick was Baker again?

I do believe I said the “TOP QB that we needed”and not the one we got.

Seriously though, they’ve been hunting for a top QB ever since they drafted Tim Couch when they got the new team. And most years the 4 or 5 wins they had screwed all chances at a QB without trading the farm……which they just did for the morally lacking guy who is about to come off his suspension.

I would have kept the farm.

Wasn’t Allen and Jackson in the same draft as Mayfield? I’m pretty sure the Browns had their choice.

Mayfield was the number one overall pick. Could have been Allen or RB Jackson

PFF gives the Steelers a 7% chance to make the playoffs.
    Bengals
    Colts
    Falcons
    Ravens
    Panthers
    Raiders
    Ravens
    Browns

I could see us winning 6 of those games, but would 9-8 be good enough to make the playoffs? We lost to the AFCE division and all those teams have better records than us.

I see 4 wins POSSIBLE, maybe 5, to be honest... Just an opinion. I guarantee there is no tanking in Pittsburgh's vocabulary. With the addition of the extra WC.. it possible, but Im afraid not attainable.

My feeling is the Steelers will go out there on Sunday and try to win... the chips will fall where the will, but the Steelers aint retarded in the front office, so they will do whats best come draft time, off-season decision's.

    Debatable
Let's see reaching on a QB when a batter draft class is coming
Taking a running back in the first round
    Moving up to nab Bush
Not putting an emphasis on the trenches
Trading for other teams trash (Gilbert, Scobee, Boykin, Levi Brown, Switzer)
Trading for the injured William Jackson (there were good odds he was going to be cut)
Tomlin gets a lot of hate for the debacle that is Matt Canada but the front office is to blame for that as well. Those are the ones that came to me right off the top of my head if I looked I'm sure I can find more misses than hits in the last 5 to 10 years. Maybe not restarted but quite possibly overrated.

Those are garbage picks traded, not premium ones.

ok... Nice points, but, in my opinion they had no choice but to go QB with Ben Hanging up the cleats. I wouldnt call it a reach and how were they to know the future would have better options. They still have a chance to go QB again if they desire, but they were forced to go QB and I dont think they did wrong in Pickett. Its a team with lots of holes and Pickett is doing what he can on a team in digression... he needs help around him and I think he will be ok.

The Steelers were ranked dead last in 2020 in the run department, so Kevin Colbert went with what he thought was necessary and Harris was there and already played in an NFL style offense... I would have done the same thing.

Right now, Canada has to take some blame, a lot of it... injuries have to take some blame and the o-line (trenches) definitely needs to be addressed. 2022 is an off season, but with the right moves in the draft, good FA hirings... the Steelers are not too far off.

I dont follow them as closely as you guys, obviously, but I dont see a rebuild or a panic button that says, 'time to blow this up'... its just a matter of a few smart moves and Im confident that can happen.

Steelers have a very talented core on both sides of the ball... just needs smartly tweaked. The offensive side of the ball especially needs the most help, because 20 points a game is a bad trend and wont win too many games. If I can see this, certainly the Steelers front office can, lol. Not rocket science.

Steelers fans call everyone a bust, if they aren’t getting measured for a bust in Canton Willie. Next season when Pickett is playing at a high level everyone here will be talking about how good a job Colbert did on his way out the door.

Say what you want but at least they didn't draft Alex Leatherwood. Being a Raiders fan must really be frustrating. Every year their fans praise their 1st rounder like he's the next Jim Thorpe and then he blows.

I believe only 3 of the current top 20 rushing leaders (running backs) are 1st round picks. Everyone else is not meaning you dont have to get your running back in the 1st.

What makes them garbage picks? Because it was a 5th for boykin? Maybe take a look at some of the names that went in the 5th just in that draft alone before you count them as trash. Ill give you a hint for 1 of them is arguably the best WR in the nfl currently and he actually went right after the Steelers 5th round pick.

Also look no further than the Chiefs sb loss on how important the Oline is. They had arguably the best WR in the game, best QB, and best TE but because their line had been crushed by injuries they got spanked.
