Would be nice to see Fields and the offense get a CLUTCH TD drive here. This is when it matters most.
Would be nice to see someone not named Fields make a play. He’s doing everything. Someone needs to help him.
That is just a straight up PI. Blatant. Im not even surprised, refs have fucked the team all day long. And i dont usually complain about calls, but these have been egregious. Then ESB drops the 4th down pass. Dogshit.
There's a hell of a lot of good to take from this game, but im really fucked off with the calls right now. The refs stole this game. Some unspeakably bad officiating.
PI flag puts us at the 20 with plenty of time to drive into the end zone but at worst we get the tying FG. Then St Brown fucks us over. I'm pissed. All good will from this game for me got zapped on those 2 plays.
Watching the Seahawks game now to take my mind off it, but 1 final thing. D pass interference should be reviewable. Its too impactful. How they work around that is up to them, 1 challenge on a call per game, whatever. But they've got to clean this up, because it decides games. Today it cost the Bears, AT LEAST, easy FG position and OT. But maybe more. They decided the outcome today.
My stream cut over to see two of the INTs, and got to see the end of the game where the Lions sealed it. It was fantastic. They did that, remember, and it was bullshit because it was never overturned because refs aren't going to own up to fucking up. My thing is, when Eddie Jackson gets that bullshit call where it's PI, and then at the end of the game, where it basically DECIDES THE GAME and you pocket the flag? That on top of the other BS calls is just too much. That said, the refs didn't make our defense complete ass against the pass. They didn't make mustipher be the worst player on the field. ESB missing that pass, fuck off. All that said though, Justin. What a day. He's growing, missed some throws sure, but made some throws and those runs, goddamn. The confidence, the progress. BREAKING the record for regular season, and would have broken the overall record if his 10 yard run hadn't been called back by the Mustipher hold. Heh, watching the post game presser with TTNL and they ask Justin about the PI, and he says, "oh yeah, I saw it on the billboard, it was definitely PI".
And while Getsy has had some head scratchers, it is clear that from the NE game on that they have decided he can be used as a runner, and do the rollouts, and it has made ALL the difference in the world. Get him more comfortable, speed up his clock, give the defense something to think about. Cam Newton/Lamarr Jackson blueprint is not a bad one to take. It can work in this league, as long as he can make the throws when he needs to.
