The WR free agent market isn’t gonna be great this offseason so one of your first 4 picks has to be a WR. But you add a couple more in free agency. The rest of your early draft picks have to be spent on the offensive and defensive line.
All these attempts at trickery, its ultimately a correct admission that your OL & WRs cant win straight up.
He's making an effort to call more dogshit for you. The only question now is do the Cowboys get the 50 burger.
I didn't take what he said that way. We have bums anfd bad players, they're not getting an out. But there are some young players out there you want to develop and get better. Garbage points come from garbage yards which come from enough young players at least executing and having some success. That can't be a bad thing.
I've been critical of him, but this game isn't on Fields, he's had a few bad throws but the blocking and WRs have been much much worse.
Well, short of the Fields non-touch the guy down facepalm, heh. And the Defense being an absolute sieve. You know, maybe this team just sucks right now.
Its not close to being on Fields. He made a poor throw on the opening play(not easy btw asking a QB to drop a 50yard dime his first snap of the game), thats about it. Both throws to the endzone weren't dimes but should've been TD's. Good receivers come down with both.
Even that poor throw on the first play should have been a net positive. An average receiver comes back to the ball and either catches it or causes the defender to get called for PI. Fields was solid today. Not great but a far improvement from where he was just a few weeks ago. The point of this season was to see him make progress and we are seeing it.
Ok fuck everyone else on offense. I want confidence and rhythm for Fields. Yeah it's pundit-speak but it's important for him. That's the whole point of this damn season.
Two bad plays today from Fields. First play of the game, and the no-touch down on the fumble. Otherwise he was pretty good again.
The defense just didn’t show up today. Maybe they were being cry babies about losing there buddy Quinn. I don’t know but that was as shit a performance as one can put on tape. Very happy to see Fields play well against a very good defense on the road. He didn’t regress after last weeks game he continued to progress. Was he amazing? No and it will be close to impossible to be with his current receivers. He is starting to make you say. Wow if he had some better players around him he can be special not just playable.
Other than Mooney not one of the WRs has shown that they should be on the roster next year. Not even V Jones. Maybe Harry starts to emerge in the second half but right now I'm thinking we need 4 new WRs, which means probably 3 picked up in FA or trades.
I disagree. If you add a beast #1 the rest of the group fills in nicely. Mooney is a great #2 and the rest can fight it out after that. It’s too early to see if V Jones is a bum at WR. We know he can’t catch punts but in an offense that doesn’t pass all that much his opportunities have been limited. I mean how many new WR’s do you need learning a new offense and building rapport with Firlds.
It is, but what we know is that the coaching staff doesn't think highly enough of him to give him more reps than say Pettis or ESB, or even Smith-Marsette before he got cut. That drop today on a perfect ball from Fields isn't helping his case. You need guys who aren't bums. I actually don't think it's going to be that hard to turn over the position for 2023. Remember the state of our WRs during the 2017 season, and Pace to his credit totally reset the position for 2018 with A-Rob, Miller, Gabriel and Wims. I think Bellamy may have been the lone holdover and that was more due to his special teams production. Jones or Harry may stick around for another year (they may not though), but no reason to keep Pettis or ESB, and it won't be hard to replace them either.
At least if I'm gonna watch the Bears suck, please don't make me do it while they wear those awful fucking orange helmets. THAT'S just as embarrassing as anything else. Orange tic tacs running around losing ball games.
