Way to set him up for success (and some early confidence), hey?

On a list of things I definitely wouldn’t do as a coach

I talked myself out of moving taysom hill into my starting line up in 3 leagues today. In two of them i would have had to bench my regular TE. One being Kelce so even though he will likely not score as well im okay with not starting him there the other robert tonyan doh! The las league he would have been a flex start and would have been a vast improvement. Its just one of those years where whoever I sit or talk myself out of picking up goes off.

Between all the bye's and injuries, Im having a hard time fielding a football team in my L4SN Leagues. Waiver Wire city this week and I have the feeling this is going to be a thing from here on out. But, thats what makes it fun/interesting... good luck gentlemen!

On the plus side sometimes it makes picking your line up easy. Perhapse not guys you want tomstartnall at once but if they are your only options you roll with it lol

I think, iirc, I had one team that had 6 byes on starters and 6 or 7 on my bench that were out... Im forced to change the whole damn team practically, lol.

I just noticed today, 5 of 6 defenders I started this week are a week 9 bye. Also 3 of 5 on my bench. What are the odds?

I’ll have to take a warning that week. I can’t replace all those guys. I have 3 healthy starters, and I’m including the 1 on IRD (designated to return)

You don’t know if the designated to return will be activated this week?

I have q team this week between injuries and byes I don't have to choose my lineup it's 100 percent picked baring injury during practice. On the downside Fields gets a helmet as my QB

Honestly, I hate that rule.. in my yearly leagues I have gone with the strategy of ignoring byes. One year I had 7 players on the same bye week and I won the league despite not replacing a single player on the common bye. I sacrificed one week and was stronger every other week because of it.

Especially in a keeper league, you shouldn’t be forced to drop players just because they are on a bye week.

The warnings should be for inactivity, not inactive. If a player is on bye or inactive that week and a bench player was available…THEN give a warning. But if they are off that week, you shouldn’t be forced to drop a player you would rather keep just to fill an inactive spot to avoid a warning.

Oh, I dont know... I like the way things are, to be honest. It keeps owners on their toes, keeps people active and maintains the integrity of the League.

Even though I had all the injuries and byes, I still kept my best players, the only ones cut were actually expendable anyway, so I didnt mind cutting them. The hard decisions are what makes things unique and more realistic, in my opinion. IF it came down to cutting a highly ranked, well producing player, obviously your not going to cut him and it gets tough once in a while, but half the fun is balancing your team via the waver-wire to prepare just for those occasions.

Quick look shows you would only need to add two to be compliant, and you're carrying 3 kickers...

Not quite the struggle you're making it out to be.

It's really not that difficult in this league to remain compliant, and it removes ambiguity when it comes to inactivity.

3 kickers? Ok, now I feel stupid for speaking up. Still, if an active owner would want to keep their roster intact, I would rather that be an option by stating so in a post, rather than giving them an illegal roster. Injury designations have become a game in the NFL. Even though they should probably go on IR, they are keeping them active for some reason. There are rosters much worse off than mine that have littered injuries all over them and you don’t know if a guy is playing in the afternoon until the early games have already started. It makes it very difficult to manage those situations when you have 3 guys in the same position that are questionable.. in the past if a guy of a guy was questionable, he most likely played. That isn’t the case anymore.

I’ve had to make some cuts already this season that I would have preferred not to. It’s just part of the game.

I know everyone would like to hang onto players to the point of having 30 on the bench, but the year after everyone would want 40…

And I should have added - This is no big deal.

I’d rather everyone feel comfortable with discussing things whether we all agree or not.

Don’t underestimate the value of a kicker gentleman. A good kicker averages 10+ points a week.
Against someone in the playoffs last year I started Myles Garrett and Nick Bosa (perhaps you’ve heard of them) for a combined 1 point. So don’t talk about kickers like they’re irrelevant, especially in regards to putting some random DL in thinking it will make a difference.

Edit: That said, I have three kickers listed in the top 10, and lately can’t seem to start anybody for more than six points. So you might be better just throwing darts at the waiver wire.

This is why I say that.

The kicker is so random, based on the situation of a game to determine if he even gets an opportunity to score, let alone doing it consistently. There will ALWAYS be at the very least 15 (most leagues 19-20) starting kickers available on the waiver wire to start 10 minutes before roster lock of games on Sunday. It has been that way since the beginning of fantasy.

I’m not going to argue your methodology, everyone has their own way of doing things.. that’s my way and I can’t seem to even make the playoffs in these leagues… so, I wouldn’t take any of my fantasy advice.
