Good: beat Brady with a rookie QB starting first time since 2004. 3 DB’s off the practice squad played their asses off. Claypool sighting. Sims return and The Steelers red zone defense. A Devin Bush sighting. Browns got whooped by a dude named Zappee. Baltimore and No Action Jackson blew another double digit lead. Aaron Rodgers got pummeled. Vols beat ‘Bama , more demons exhumed. Burrow goes booed in Louisiana? Trubisky redeems himself in Relief.

Bad, offense still can’t creat holes for RB. Canada still sucks.

Ugly: low snap almost cost The Steeler’s the game.

Can't believe Brady gave up being Mr. Giesele Bundchen to come back and get beat buy a guy with size six hands.

Nice win, Steelers fans! Always a joy to root against Brady.

A dude who has more TD passes than Pickett and doesn't have the receivers Pickett has. Before an to body says well Pickett got hurt Zappe had more before he beat the browns and his plays are being called by Matt Patrica.

And Canada is calling plays for Pickett at this point Patricia would be an upgrade

Zappe might be the real deal. Watched him vs the Packers and he was good considering he was a last minute fill in.

The good is a win. Solid D especially in the red zone. Claypool wasn't invisible. The O keeping the ball for the last four minutes.

The bad. FG on an 89 yard KO return. Pickett getting hurt.

The ugly. The Packers. The Bengals getting a late win.

    Off to Miami

A lot of chatter on how Brady disrespected The Steelers by attending Kraft’s wedding and missed the Saturday meeting and walk through. I’ll
Put that in the ugly category. Seems like Gee I Smell Butt Much is divorcing him for his lack of commitment.

    In what?

In the team? They really turned it around against all odds this weekend. No starting CBs , Minkah out and Watt if coarse out. Finally won without him. The big problem now is will Pickett be available next week.

I think they will marginally improve as the season goes on but they have so many issues that can't be fixed without an influx of new talent.

No this team is far from becoming a good team let alone a SB contending team. Beating a tampa rteam that on a closer look is not a very good team (defense is good offense is not) doesnt change anything other rhan we lost some draft positions.

We’ll have an influx of talent as the season goes on, we were missing half of our starting defense against The Brady’s. Trubiskys problem is he thinks too much. When he came off the bench he didn’t have the same mindset as when he started and it showed in his play. Mental issues can’t be fixed. Trubisky will never be a good starting QB because of those issues. He is a nice backup though. I wonder if we can renegotiate his contract so we can keep him as a career backup?

Jean, you know Tomlin is going to get this team to go at least 500 this season and ruin any possibility of a great draft pick. 500 this season may win the division. Pickett is our future QB, we just need trench workers on both sides of the ball.

Tua will play this weekend. Can we put pillows on the field so we don’t have to watch him contorting his fingers when he gets sacked? He shouldn’t play again this season. I can see him getting serious brain injuries because he insists on getting back on the field so soon. I’ve never seen anyone have their fingers all bent like that on the football field before from a concussion. This guy is risking serious life altering injury just to play a game. He probably should retire in reality. I know we all love the game and would probably want to do the same if we were in his shoes. How come people can’t see what they are risking when it’s their own selves at risk? We take for granted the precious life we have been granted. Serious head injuries can take your life.

Problem with concussions is you never know which one will be the finishing concussion. Some guys get 1 and they are done. Some get several and have no I'll effects. Muth didn't have any as bad as Tua but he has had 3 in less than 12 months. Should he step back onto the field? There is good argument he should not step onto the field again.

The Ugly is that Colbert ignored the trenches for too many drafts. Creed Humphrey over ‘Muth. Rhamonde Stevenson over Najee. Just some examples

Good points here and thought provoking questions.

I could never give specifics because I'm not a neurologist and, even if I was, I don't know the players. One thing I will say is that the culture of being the tough guy who just got his bell rung but can still play has to continue to be erased. As we've moved forward in our understanding of head trauma, that needs to be reflected in how players are dealt with in the assessment of concussions.

I always think about Chris Borland and his decision to hang it up. Sadly, he was met with a degree of public shame. I think that atmosphere adversely affects a players ability to make an informed decision in their best interests. While I don't have the answers as to how that can be changed I do hope it can.

This is so right on. I think this accounts for one half of the primary motivator - the other is money. The NFL capping rookie payscales means that a player needs to play for two or more contracts if they actually want big money. Add to it that pension / medical benefits only count in retirement for players that logged a certain amount of time in the league, and players have very real financial incentives to keep playing.

If the NFL is serious about concussions (they're not), they'll look at fixing these items to be more equitable to all players. If the player's union is serious about concussions (they're not), they'll fight for this stuff. But I have a hard time believing anything meaningful is going to change in the next decade, frankly.
