100 percent not saying that inferior QB play doesn't impact the running game, but the NFL is still a majority "use the run to setup the pass" and plenty of bad QBs who's teams still have great running games. Last season, Tannehill was 20th in QB rating but the Titans were the #3 rushing attack. Jalen Hurts was #22 and the Eagles were #1.

That's fair. I'll say this (off topic) but Hurts is looking good this year. Reminds me of the 2019 to 2020 Josh Allen change. Crazy what happens when you give young QBs a proven WR and make some changes in the passing game.

There's the SAS I expected. Boil an issue down to the most basic of numbers without any additional nuance / context, and then use one sentence statements / memes to reply to anyone who challenges the idea.

There are so many conclusions to be drawn from these numbers that they can't be used reliably for any one argument without additional context.

I'm not going to pretend that I've watched the entirety of both Steelers and Browns games so far this season. Hell, I barely have time to watch any football at all. But I know that Trubisky plays in an offense that, at this time last year, was running the ball worse and passing the ball better. If we're going to pull such basic stats, I feel like those are more pertinent if we're going to try and excuse Trubisky by blaming the running game.

Truth be told, Trubisky looks like the worst QB in the league, he watches his WRs the whole way never looking away from his intended target, which makes it really easy to defend the pass against the Steelers. He doesn’t run when he has room too. He’s the worst QB I have seen in a Steelers uniform in my lifetime. Even the announcers for the game were commenting on how Trubiskys eyes pulled the LB into the passing lane which lead to the deflection which was intercepted.

Really? Worse than Mark Malone in the 80's?

For starters . . . I'm not a big Joe Woods fan. But, after watching that play three or four times, I don't think this specific fuck up belongs to Joe Wood. Every other DB on the field was in man-to-man. Denzel Ward was playing Cover 2 thinking he had Safety help behind him. IMHO, Ward was the culprit on this one.

I can agree with that but they had the same problems early last season too. Had to dumb it down for the DB's. Yes, the one play that Ward phuqued up is on him. But there have been too many busted plays in two games to not point a finger at the guy in charge whose DB's aren't getting "it".

Nice to see you. Hope all is well with you. Hope you keep coming back as it's getting a bit lonely in here.

I''ve been MIA for a while, no excuse, just busy. The depth of my fandom has been challenged by the whole Watson thing, and I'll readily admit, I was pulling for Baker in game one. all that said, WTF??? The JETS .????

It's the D, so I understand and don't disagree with the Joe Wood is an idiot narative, but Professor Stefanski is reaching his expiration date with me. You cannot think your way out of losing! Leadership is called for. It may strike the professor as unecessary to tell his pro athletes what the situation is and how that should dictate how they play, but god damn it, clearly someone should have been 'very clear" NO ONE GETS BEHIND YOU" against a team with no timeouts and needing 2 (not just scores) touchdowns to be a threat.
Then having given up the unforgiveable deep ball for a touchdown, no less, no huddle before the onsides kick to emphasize the critical need to make sure we cover the ball.

You can throw Priefer in the "get lost" list of coaches we kept "for continuity". Continuity is important when it's coaches who've proven themselves. I'm getting the impression professor Srephanski hasn't got the balls for this job, and we're going to continue to pay the price for it.

For those who cry "wait til we DeShaun back", I'm afraid his talent may disguise our coach"s clear weaknesses, and once again we'll have a QB he doesn't have authority over, setting him and the Browns for more weak leadership at the coaching level. The professor is looking very weak to me. Makes me think DePodesta wanted him because he clearly wouldn't rock the boat.

I don't know who I believe is in charge, and I wonder if the same can be said by the players.

Because conceptually it's an easy thing to "boil down"? You can add nuance all you want, but when a person -- like yourself -- is constantly moving the goal posts in any type of debate and then also immediately goes to ad hominems, it's easy to talk in big pictures than absolute details.
Could be the difference between a legitimate HOF quarterback (Roethelisberger) and a guy on his third team in three seasons who never lived up to draft status?

But since you wanna go Ben v. Mitch...
In 2021, Ben averaged 6.9 intended air yards per pass in the same offense where Trubisky is averaging 7.9.
Trubisky's intended air yards per pass career is 8.2 and he's throwing 7.9 in Pittsburgh's offense.

I know we're not comparing them, but Patty Mahomes' intended air yards per pass (career) is 8.3.

So maybe, it's like I said initially in that the Steelers' offensive coordinator hasn't accepted that they need to lean into the run and do, as more than half the teams in the NFL, use the run to set up the pass.

Don't do that. There isn't an honest poster on this site that doesn't recognize you as being the person who always moves the goalposts, and chooses to respond in short, bitchy sentences / memes. That's your thing. And you did it here. Don't get mad and blame me, for it.

You keep using this word, "intended". Do you know what that means? Because I don't think it means the same as "completed". And completed passes are usually the ones that defenses worry about, not intended ones. Mitch has no problem chucking it deep... and missing. That's not something you allocate a safety to. And that's my point. But I know that it's not a number pulled from PFF, so I know you're already trying to figure out how to invalidate a basic truth of the game of football. And that's cool.

  15. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

That's an awful lot of projection from you, but that's also routine for someone as insecure, emotionally-stunted, and toxic as you.
Once again showing how little you know about anything. I'm not pulling anything from PFF.

  16. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

I also love how you just did exactly what I accused you of:
You're the single-worst poster on this site and it's not particularly close. But I guess stay toxic and do you, boo.

  17. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

One of us started by talking substance, and the other started with bitchy short sentences and memes. You can try to make it about me all you want, but the evidence is literally the thread.

Do you want to talk substance? Because one of us is here to do that... boo.
