Clowney strips the ball and recovers it. So much for that Jets drive. About 3:24 left til half. Lets get another TD or at least to the Jets forty yard line for York.
And the jets win the game. The Ravens lose a game that they should have won too if it makes you feel any better.
Nope. Friggin' defense. That's two weeks in a row they give up the long TD in the 4th quarter. I blame this one on Joe Woods the DC. Seriously, WTF play calling was that? What kind of horse shit prevent crap is he calling? It sure as hell isn't working.......TWO WEEKS IN A ROW!!!!! Ruined a well played game by the offense and Brisset and the defense thru 3.5 quarters.
I was surprised by that score. Really couldn’t believe that the Browns lost, even more unbelievable that the Ravens got smoked in the fourth quarter by the dolphins.
Right now, Jacoby is outplaying Baker through 2 games. And, I'll add - Brissett looks like he can be a competent game manager for the season while Deshaun is out. The problem for Cleveland moving forward is the schedule... I think the PIT game next week is winnable. I have them losing on the GRID but it's one of two 'lean win' picks I have for CLE on the year. However, they could run off 6 more losses in a row before the bye. That sets them up for a road game against MIA coming out of it followed by a road game to BUF before TB at home. It's a ridiculous way to try and rebound for the second half of the season. The Browns may be searching for their 4th win when the last week of the season comes around.
A couple of notes from Terry Pluto: All of this negated a terrific performance by Jacoby Brissett (22-of-27 passing, 229 yards) and Amari Cooper (9 catches, 101 yards and a TD). Yes, Brissett threw an interception on the final Browns play of the game, but the game was basically over. In the first two games with Brissett, the offense has scored 26 and 30 points. They should be 2-0. This is on Joe Woods and the defense, which has allowed 34 points in the two fourth quarters this season. The blown coverages were a problem for the first part of 2021 before Woods simplified his coverage, doing a more man-to-man concept. Do it again!
You guys have nothing to worry about this week. Tomlin is hard headed and won’t admit Mitch is a bitch and start Pickett. Can you ask Garrett to knock bitch out so Tomlin has to play Pickett?
Woof. What's the old saying? If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all? I may take my commentary back to the Chargers board (where they got more home-cooking from the Kansas City-aligned refs). Better right the ship the next two weeks because these are the only winnables on the calendar for a while (and Atlanta's proving to be no slouch).
I'm not saying that Mitch is responsible for the entirety of the offense's failings, but to say that he doesn't hold responsibility for the team not getting the running game going is to turn a blind eye to some of his most important failings. The guy doesn't have the accuracy to challenge with his deep ball, and he doesn't diagnose well enough to hurt a defense that's coming downhill. How can you get a running game going when the other team doesn't have to defend past 10 yards? That's on Mitch. Bring in someone that can hit an open man downfield, and you'll see the running game pick up immediately. Mitch has never been that guy.
Cleveland is #1 in yards, #2 in attempts, and #2 in touchdowns on the ground through two games with Jacoby Brissett.
You're comparing two very different offenses with two different quarterbacks. I'm comparing Trubisky to Trubisky. If you're telling me that Cleveland's offense over two games invalidates a basic principle of football... you're welcome to do that, I guess.
