The point is that they could have had Mahomes or even Watson instead. You don’t build a team picking pass rushers when you need a QB so badly. And Watt was a better option they passed on three times before the Steelers picked him with picks in the twenties twice Peppers and Nojoku. Could you imagine Watt and Garrett as bookends? When they traded three first rd picks to get Watson that was a waste which means Garrett being picked there was a waste.
The point I was replying to was saying Watt is currently HOF bound and Garrett isn't. I'd like to dwell on that ridiculously bad take for a second. I just want you to bask in the absurdity of your own stupidity a little. Like really let it sink in how f'n dumb you are. Do that for me before we move on. So...taking a pass rusher when you need a QB is dumb but.......they should have taken two of them....that's your thesis here? A trade made this year makes a draft pick from 5 years ago a waste? Do you read your own stuff before hitting send?
OK Gid, you're starting to go off the deep end again. I think you should leave the Garrett is a wasted/bad pick alone. I don't think you are going to win anyone over with that argument. Fact is TJ Watt was passed over by 26 teams in the draft. The consensus best edge rusher in that draft was Myles Garrett. If Cleveland had passed on him, he would still have been picked in the top 3 picks. Watt, you can't say the same because he was passed over by 26 other teams. Your hindsight insight is exhausting. The QB class turned out to be damn good, but no one thought it was a strong class...not just the Browns. There was Trubisky, who everyone thought was over drafted, then Mahomes didn't go until pick 10. Anyone that picks a draft 5 years after it happens, is going to look like a genius.
Of course not...He's way too busy jacking off to his Urban Meyer poster and demanding meatloaf from his mother.
You're gonna have to either get smarter or tougher, bud. Your skin can't be this thin if you're gonna be as dumb as you are.
Yeah and you’ve complained about other people not being classy here. Yet here we are. You’re captain of the dish it out but cant take it club.
He's lashing out because he knows that he was literally telling other Browns fans that they weren't allowed to be Browns fans anymore just a week ago. You'd think Lyman wouldn't jump in with bitchy, passive aggressive comments when it's literally his buds that are at fault, but here we are. The Browns board here is just a marvel.
Well, maybe Jimmy G should go to the Cowboys now with the injury to Dak, this could salvage a season, in my opinion. No confidence in Cooper Rush, so Dallas should kick the tires.
Or… maybe They should admit their mistake and just let Jimmy play in San Fran. Trey did not look good at all.
I buy that. Lance has a lot of mechanical things to work on but the physical talent is there in boatloads.
They both absolutely have lots of potential. And in fairness, presuming Brady and Rodgers are gone by then (I certainly hope), the NFC is looking a little more bleak at QB than one might think. NFC East? Daniel Jones or Jalen Hurts? North - Fields, and hopefully no longer Rodgers West - Lance, Murray, still Stafford? South - Does the Falcons kid turn into something? Maybe Winston finds real success? Obviously this changes on a dime if someone drafts an early franchise passer, but still.
Seems likely nfc is light on the qbs. Cousins or whoever lands with the vikings would have a shot. Does Wentz find lasting success with Washington? Dak is top 5 if he can stay on the field.
When you watch Trey and Justin on the replay, what jumps off the screen for both is how effortlessly they can sling the ball when they are in high confidence situations. Both are capable of the same kind of off-platform throws as Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, but there has to be a baseline of structure from an offensive scheme that frees them to do that. Both Josh and Patrick were drafted into situations with a lot of concrete in the foundation. Trey has more in place than Justin, but his lack of playing time going back 3 years now is going to limit his ability to quickly rise, to a degree. It will be up to Shanahan to figure out what works in the short term for Lance so that his long term growth can be realized in chunk gains. IMO, it's far less mechanical than it is getting yips from what comes between the ears before it flys out the hand. Just looking across the sidelines last Sunday, you can see how Justin has developed since last season, and I think Fields' upward trajectory should be far more dramatic under the new coaching staff. Getting both of these young fellas comfortable on more downs than not is going to determine how quickly they can ascend the ladder.
