It looked like your game was close going into the half. You guys just underperforming until some adjustments at halftime?
Pretty much. Most offensive players in Baltimore sat out the entire preseason, plus Lamar hadn't played since week 13 last year. We also lost our backup LT in the first half (who was starting in place of Stanley). Lastly, the run game sucked It took a half for chemistry to be had.
I'm in 5 leagues and I have York in all of them. Kid is the real deal!! I don't know what's more impressive, the 58 yard FG (yeah probably this) or the penalty that moved the kickoff back to the 30 and he still kicked it out of the end zone. Stefanski needs to stop going for it on 4th down, or punting from the opponents 40-45 yard line. They drafted him for a reason, they need to take advantage.
I read that Stefanski didn't want to pressure the kid early on with a 50+ yarder which is they went for it on 4th and 3yds.......and Brisset straight out missed the receiver. And I also read that York (in his words) was having the worst warmups of his life. He tried to a couple of long ones and was hooking them a bit left and right but was missing kicks. Forget who said it but they told York not worry about it, it was only warmups. Just relax and you'll make them when the game starts....and the kid was 4/4 on FG's and 2/2 on PAT's and had the longest FG by a rookie kicker ever in their first game that won it for us.
I'd throw up a Yay / Nay / Yuck thread but I didn't get to watch this one and I think I may be the only active fan on the Browns board.
Hell, I'd almost entertain the suggestion of a Browns / Ravens shared thread or board but they'd take both our official fan cards away. Our fans got driven away by all the petty in-fighting over Watson and too many hurt feelings. What happened to all your guys cause you used to have a lot of fans over on the Ravens board not too long ago?
I'm not even sure. I know we, specifically me and others, had internal clashes with T.Faulk which led to him leaving. A few others slowed down on posting after that too. Seems like last year's injured team took the wind out of the sales of everyone else.
The Steelers board is getting close to that too. Probably why everyone here post everywhere now so much.
Gotta stay on brand, mate! Sorry for going AWOL -- life got really busy last couple of weeks. Quick re-cap on this one is that the Browns' ref curse left with me, apparently. Didn't get the broadcast here in Columbus so I only watched replays on the internets. Brian Burns got faulted with a ticky tack "roughing" call on the last drive and then they call it correctly on the fake spike but fail to apply the penalty and they win on a 62 yarder. Wild, wild ending. Good news for y'all is the ref curse seems to have been lifted. Good win to all the Browns fans out there.
