Where is your excitement level at for this season of Bears football?

  1. I think Fields could be good, I think Poles and Eberflus could be good. There's a lot of unknowns so normally I'd be just a little bit hyped for them to at least compete. I don't know, I just have a bad feeling about it. Maybe the problem is last years hype was to at least see how Fields perform....and he did struggle, Nagy and his scheme notwithstanding.

Maybe 10-7 Varder ? highly unlikely BUT.......I like Eberflus and he could improve the team right away.....you play 5 AFC teams and I think you could win 4 of those games......the Bills @ home on Christmas Eve will be the toughest and an L

Good Luck in 2022 as the Bears do need a Healthy year to establish themselves in the NFC North again.

Nagy got Fired Jan 10th.........I'm sure there are a lot of Happy Bears fans about that move and now you take the Bull by the horns and improve........Good Luck.

Thought i should include the highlights vid so that anyone who hadn't seen the game would at least know what i was talking about there heh.

Bonus observation: He may be a terrible C(and why was he out there anyway?) but well done to Mustipher for charging in and getting in the middle of it on that bullshit late hit on the Fields slide. Hopefully that is a team wide attitude that is gonna come from the HC/coaching staff all season. That would be good.

I’m excited for this season. Just the amount of unknown is intriguing as hell. Will Justin pan out? If he doesn’t will we have a pick to replace him? How is the defense going to transition? One thing that I am very happy about throughout the preseason has been the professionalism and discipline that both sides of the ball have worked with. They might not be lighting it up but they look well coached. Let’s see where this season brings us. This is the first season of a new regime. We are not supposed to be good. But we all know this team can look a hell of a lot better and have fewer wins to show for it.

While the schedule is weak, 10-7 seems a bit of a stretch. I guess if we sweep either the Lions or Vikings, and pick up the Cowboys and Eagles games on my prediction thread? It's possible, just seems unlikely, they are implementing new schemes on both sides of the ball and the talent is a bit sparse. I think Ev said it earlier, this season is about how Fields develops. edit - I do think the Lions are going to be better this year, and will give us a run for our money for last place in the division.

Both of you hit on something I don't think I've mentioned, and that's everything I've heard/read/seen from the new coaching staff. Professionalism, heart, discipline, high effort. Small sample size with pre-season and beat writers, but thus far I am positive on Flus and what he's bringing to the table. We're not going to be doing any club dub bullshit after we've been getting rocked all fucking season. No more "finding the whys". These guys aren't getting a pat on the back for doing what should be expected of them, and from what I've read, it was definitely a culture shock but they are getting onboard.

I'm not there yet, my mindset with the Bears is that you suck until you have been proven worthy.

I hear you. With this team its the safe play frankly.

Even going back to last season there were some clear markers, there just weren't as many/hard to spot because worst O-Line in the league, 1 actual WR and clown shoes Nagy.

I mean they'll probably prove me wrong cos Bears, but I always try to keep it real for good or bad and with Fields my eyes tell me we've got one here. Not the finished product of course. Diagnosis/pocket presence/processing, there's things that need to get better for sure but my glass is half full on this one.

Frankly, it's the only play, especially regarding this team and the QB position. Far too often I put too much emphasis on the good things and dismissed the bad to make peace with myself. Over the years I've made excuses for the QB by pointing the finger away from him just to keep that peace. When it comes to Bears QB's, coach Abe Gibron had the classic quip which has been Bears QBs modus operandi over the decades in a nutshell when he said about Bobby Douglass, "He could throw a ball right through a barn door, if only he could hit a barn door."
I have no expectations with this team and therefore no heartbreak. I'm no longer out over my skis looking at this team staring down from any perceived ceiling, I'm looking up at this team and rooting from the damn floor.
