Sorry Duff... Every thing I have said was reactionary to posts regarding me.

Three weeks ago that post was directed from:
Why does anyone have to make a smartass comment about my posts that are relevant to a conversation?

Lym has a bug up his ass, I don't have to just sit here and take what ever he wants to push, I'm a grown ass man.

Fuck it... the board was better off without me. I'll make it permanent this time.

Good luck. Lyman carries grudges and makes snide comments like a 13 year old girl.

I may not think Irish always has the brightest takes on things, but at least he's willing to
    A) not be a blind homer
    B) engage in meaningful conversation

That's not the type of person that should be leaving a message board.

Don't let a curmudgeon - I mean, asshole - chase you off, Irish. They're not worth it.

Didn't realize we were at the "refusing to root for a serial sex offender" as a high horse point of the season, but here we are...

No need to add to the chaos @dlinebass5. We ALL at times (or even very often - and not a dig at you) can be assholes and carry grudges. Snarky comments are par for the course from many of us on these boards. But for crying out loud don’t take things so personally. None of us really know each other and in the end I don’t really care what anyone thinks of me here.

I like to hang out here and argue and toss insults and peacefully discuss things. But I take it all with a grain of salt what gets thrown my way.

    @IrishDawg42

Maybe you just need a break from the present atmosphere in here. Hoping you don’t leave forever as I like to hear your perspective. If you do go, I hope you come back. You’re always welcome here.

But you haven't made one, yet.

Powder blue is a better look than brown, btdubs. Good choice.

I cannot agree with this enough. This probably needs to be pinned to the top of every page. 100% right.

Irish please don’t go. Once the season starts this Watson BS will be not as big of a topic. I wish DGN8 could be here to talk about this because he would have brought you guys together instead of it tearing you guys apart.

I will also agree that I'd rather not see anyone else leave this group. Lyman and Irish have always both been great to interact with.

Alright, back to football if we can. Have there been any announcements as to whether they’ll be playing any starters in preseason game 3? Or is this just going to be a battle of the backups for the remaining roster spots?

Just shows how loyal the Browns fanbase can be. Us Steelers fans knew you were an asshole going back to the CBS days. Mano will concur if he ever stops by.

^^^^^ That was a joke spoken before I read some of the other comments. Lym is a good friend and a great member of this forum. So is Irish. They'll work it out without our help.

Browns Wire reports that Brissett and 'key starters' will get 'some snaps'... nothing is written in stone tho. Thats all I could find. Said; the Vikings fan!

I think you'd have to seriously question the Browns' decision makers if Brissett and some other offensive starters don't get meaningful playtime in this game. Watson took the first team reps in training camp, as well as in prior game(s). To me, that's already malpractice in getting your team ready for the first 11 games of the season. The staff needs to take seriously how they gear up for this new reality, and playtime in this game would be a necessity to doing that, in my mind.

I’m thinking the same thing because other than getting a good portion of the reps practicing against the Eagles all last week, Brisset hasn’t played much. But then I think of the last preseason game being a showcase for the roster bubble players. Hope to see some vanilla football with starters for at least a couple of series or a full quarter.

The Steelers are playing their starters for the first half according to the Lions head coach. He said Tomlin called him and let him know. So I guess that’s what the Lions will do too.

I get it SAS. You’re not happy with the Browns and this whole fiasco. But can you add anything to a conversation without the intention of continuing to stir the pot? I’m not a Watson fan either and didn’t like the mistreatment of Mayfield. But unfortunately I’ve been rooting this team since I was 6 for a total of 45+ years and this old Dawg isn’t going to find another team to root for.

Can we just get back to discussing the product on the field and yes even the coaching staff’s shortcomings (neither which have been seen yet this year)? I think we all need to diffuse whatever toxicity exists. I understand both sides of the Watson debacle, but how about we go about the usual talk because I’m personally tired of the crap that’s being thrown back and forth. It isn’t talk about the football that’s being played.

Of course! And sorry, not the intention to stir the pot with that comment. I've been pretty harsh on Stefanski going all the way back to early last season. A comment was made about perhaps needing to "question the decision makers" in Cleveland to which I replied, "done".

Circling this all the way back to my suggestion several pages back about him being on the hotseat... what do you believe is a realistic expectation, given all the well-documented turmoil, for the head coach? Is his job completely safe and this year is a mulligan, regardless of outcomes? Is he going to be judged on his performed in the last six games with Watson versus the first 11 without?

We've seen Jimmy Haslam pull the plug on Pat Shurmur (2 seasons), Rob Chudzinski (1 season), and Mike Pettine (2 seasons), Freddie Kitchens (1 season), while keeping someone like Hue Jackson (2.5 seasons) much longer than he should have. KS came into a situation with low expectations and a tough circumstance (Covid-19 lockdowns) and the team came out with an 11-5 season and their first post-season win in 26 years... although to be fair, that win was without him. Followed up a season with increased expectations by struggling with personnel, game-time, and game-plan decisions and ultimately sabotaged the QB and team at large. Glossing over the single-worst offseason in recent memory, what is the reasonable expectation for the year with KS?

Not pot-stirring... genuinely curious. I don't believe he's a strong enough leader for a team with personality, I don't believe he's a strong enough game-planner to beat the elite defenses, and I worry that he still panicks in clutch times of games and gets either too conservative, or overly-creative with play-calls. Personally, barring a 2020 like resurrgence against the odds, I don't expect he'll make it past this year.
