I don't disagree with that either.. But, what happened the last time the Steelers took a QB in the first round? He didn't start the first two games, then was the starter for every non-injury or suspension game for the next 18 seasons until he retired. The time before that, Terry Bradshaw was still on the roster when they drafted him. IF they start Trubisky, I would be surprised if they haven't made the move to Pickett by week 3. They could very well lose to the Bengals and Patriots, given the thought of starting 0-3, moving Pickett to the lineup against the Brisett led Browns makes sense. Then giving him a second start against the Jets before being thrown into back to back games against the Bills and Buccaneers.
Well... the division is a little better than it was in 2004... but dream your little dream, you aren't hurting anyone.
The Steelers are not SB contenders this year no matter who is playing QB this season. It’s the reality of the team. Both OTs are average at best Devin Bush has not proven to be reliable at MLB No CBs on the team have ever had to be a #1
Our defense is legitimate. Spillane probably will play more than Bush and he’s been good. Our Cbs are good enough to cover with our pass rush, you don’t believe in Pickett?
I don’t believe in Pickett yet. Using TC numbers is a bit dodgy. Pickett spent most of the time going up against third team CBs. True, he worked with 3rd team WRs but the 3rd team WRs are better than the 3rd team CBs. He’s looked good in the preseason, but little to no game planning, not ready to anoint him the next HOF QB just yet. Let Trubisky start the year, no need to turn Pickett into the next David Carr.
Pickett is the most talented of the 3 I’d wait. The OL is porous and can’t run block. Id trade Rudolf for a good OLineman at this point. Waiver wire will be interesting. Fucking dummies could of had Quinn Meinerz . Green sux Dotson is a hair better.
Mike Tomlin played his starters for the first half today. @Campbell can we just close this thread down now?
