not about Baker… I’m fine moving on from him. My problem is with the replacement.

I don't think they are done yet. Waiting on a response from Judge Robinson is my guess...If DW gets a year, the Browns will have to sign someone. I don't think there is any way that they roll into the regular season with just Brissett and Dobbs.

The list of F/A QB's is pretty sad right now. Cam Newton is available, but that doesn't excite me any more than Brissett.

You guys have over 40 million in cap space. Trade your next seasons second for Garapolo and you just might want to trade Watson before he even plays a snap for you.

Congrats on having one post out of 50 (on the Cleveland Browns boards) that didn't include TJ Watt...Your boner for him is duelly noted.

Looking forward to seeing Mitch or Kenny VS. Garrett and Clowney....

Could you imagine? Calvin Ridley gets a full season for betting $1,500 on a game and DW after settling 20 lawsuits with at least four still pending gets a slap on the wrist?

I'm only hearing the "six games" in the Cleveland Browns echo chambers on Twitter, fwiw...

There is literally no way for anyone to have any information on the coming disciplinary results. None. Briefs are only due this week - there is no world in which she'd make a judgement prior to receiving those (even if she has a position and is just waiting on the briefs to have a written basis for that position, she still would never have made that position known to anyone).

Anyone who says they know what the suspension timeline is, or have "heard" what it is, or have "sources" for what it is are complete liars, at best. And anyone who listens to them is a giant fucking moron.

After 45+ years of fandom. I have finally figured out how hard headed I really am.

What does every franchise that is consistent with winning have? I already said it... consistency. It is impossible to build a winning franchise by changing important parts to the machine as often as this team has since 1999. IMPOSSIBLE.

With this latest installment of "How not to build a winning franchise" we have the Browns brass wager their future on a guy who, by all accounts, won't play in a professional game for at least 96 weeks, IF TD gets his wish of a 6 game suspension. With every game comes a longer absence from football.

It would be a classic Browns situation if he were to get an 11 game suspension. That would in essence end the competitive options for the Browns in 2022, while also using up a season of eligibility for Watson when he is eligible to play in 6 games of the season.

Browns go 7-10 on the year, Haslem fires Stefanski and yet another change in the machine starts a new cycle of inferiority. The all of a sudden Watson is on his second coach and coordinator in as many years, he is disgruntled, they go 10-7 in his second year, close, but no playoffs and he wants a trade in year 3 of his 5 year contract. Before you say, "no way that happens" look at the history of the "new" Browns. It would be harder to argue against this theory, than it is to argue for it.

Whether you liked, loved or Hated Baker Mayfield, success wasn't something expected from a Browns QB. Setting them up to fail, more the norm.

The guy was here for 4 years, played in 4 different offensive systems for 4 different HCs and 4 OCs. THAT my friends is Cleveland Browns football...not an anomaly.

Why does anyone think this situation is different than any other? Hope, expectations? A feeling?

This situation that the ownership has put us in is classic Browns in every sense.

    The Haslem Era:
    1) An owner that wanted to own a franchise in Tennessee buys the Browns in 2012 because that is what was available.
    2) He has hired and/or fired 7 head coaches in 9 full seasons.
    3) He has hired and/or fired 6 general managers in 9 full seasons
    4) Ready for this... Under Haslem's ownership, the Browns have had 15 starting QBs, with the Mayfield trade, they are guaranteed to have at least (2) more over the next two seasons, barring Watson getting no suspension at all.
    5) The closest thing to consistency that Haslem has shown is the previous 2 years with the same coach, GM and QB, which gave us a playoff appearance and win. Now, more change, more inconsistency and if I were to place a bet, more losing.
    6) sign a QB with 20+ civil lawsuits, hasn't played in a full season and will miss at the very least part of next season.

This is a good point and almost unbelievable... too bad its fact.

When I was younger here in Toledo... I saw the Browns weekly. They were competitive... consistently also. Good QB's, Good RB's, solid offensive line and pretty decent defenses. Always in their games. The key must have been management and coaching... they knew what they were doing. Maybe they didnt win championships all the time, but they were no doormat.

This stuff lately and in the contemporary genre is just plain hard to see. You nailed Irish... way to inconsistent and changing. Maybe its ownership... the ones with the money that hire the people that hire. Browns need to look at the top/head and check there brains and ask themselves; 'are we doing whats right to succeed'? Obvious answer, in my opinion, NO.

IF IF IF, DW gets to play some this season... this team is stacked, relatively speaking and will be ok. If this DW stuff/shit gets closer and swept under a convenient rug, they will be ready to compete, but they must know what their doing from the top down, not the other way around.

Hoping for the best for the Browns. Thanks for reading a Vikings fans opinion. ;)

lol! Well, my wish is the same as the NFLPA's....As highly unlikely as it may be, that is what they are arguing for. I don't think it'll happen, but I can wish.

If there is one thing I can agree with Urban Meyer fan club president on, it is that nobody has any idea what the punishment is going to be. Everything out there is pure speculation at this point.

Genuine community guidelines question... how is this vapid sack of insults and vitriol still allowed to post here?

Not following them as closely as I previously had, so this may have changed... but have they still met in person with the media since the trade yet? Jimmy Haslam's inability to stick to a prescribed plan has been the crux of all the issues for the team since he took over. Now comes another shake-up with a rather questionable outlook -- how long, to your points @IrishDawg42 -- does he stick with this one before hitting the panic/eject button?

Have you ever seen your lucky numbers on the bottom of Chinese fortune cookie paper? I wonder what lucky number 15 could represent? Oh that’s right, Patrick Mahomes.

  20. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

The verdict from Sue L. Robinson regarding Watson's suspension will, hopefully, be known within the next 2 to 3 weeks. That alleged timetable gives the Browns some clarity in the QB room as to who would be available for week 1 and for how long. But, nothing is carved in granite.

IF, however, either the NFL or the NFLPA decide to appeal Robinson's decision (assuming there is a suspension), all bets are off for training camp clarification.

So, given no final resolution, how would you handle getting the QB room ready for week 1 during training camp?
